Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the impact on business and the environment, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. The personal example regarding your father is relevant but brief. To improve, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments. For instance, explain the specific economic consequences for businesses or provide more nuanced environmental data. The position is clear, but the overall task response is somewhat underdeveloped, keeping it at a lower band level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression between sentences is often weak. There is a frequent misuse of cohesive devices, such as 'For the some peoples' and 'For the most of the peoples', which makes the flow feel mechanical and sometimes confusing. Referencing is also inconsistent, and the transition between the environmental benefits and the business disadvantages is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'on the other hand') more accurately to connect your ideas logically rather than just starting sentences with 'For'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'modernized age', 'denied the number of flights', and 'save burning fuels'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the environment and business sectors. Focus on learning word families and how words are typically paired together in English.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('my father use flights'), article usage ('the environment benefits'), and tense consistency ('if they reduce or stop flying its direct impact was'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors that affect readability. To improve, you need to work on basic sentence construction and ensure that your verb tenses are consistent throughout the essay. Practicing the correct use of articles and pluralization will also significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
