Air travel has become an essential part of modern life, allowing people to travel quickly and conveniently around the world. However, the increasing use of air transportation has raised concerns about its impact on the environment. Some people are choosing to travel by airplane less often, while some have decided to stop travelling by plane completely. I believe, the benefits of this development outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses

To commence with, fewer flights helps to reduce carbon emissions. A reduction in flights lead to lower fuel consumption and less carbon di-oxide (CO₂) release, which not only can helps to tackle climate change but also the impact of global warming. To exemplify this, if a large number of people choose to travel by train instead of taking short distance flights, the overall amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere can be significantly reduced. Consequently, this can contribute to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future.

Conversely, It impacted individuals, As it became less convenient for them to travel long distances and difficulties for businesses to meet with international clients. Flights are often the fastest way to travel long distances.

Avoiding flights can make international travel much longer and more difficult. Furthermore, Some businesses depend on face-to-face meetings with international clients. For example, a company that regularly meets overseas clients may find it challenging to establish trust and negotiate important deals through online meetings alone. As a result, limiting air travel could negatively affect business relationships and international opportunities.

In conclusion, although reduction in flights lead to lower fuel consumption which helps to control climate change and global warming. However, it impacts few businesses and individuals. Moreover, we can use green alternatives, such as People may choose trains, buses or video conferences instead of flying, businesses can use online meetings rather than travelling for every meeting. This can encourage more sustainable habits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. Your position is clear from the introduction, and you provide relevant supporting arguments for both sides. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that businesses struggle with international clients, you could have expanded on how this impacts global economic growth or specific industries. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and introduces new ideas (green alternatives) that were not fully integrated into the main body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more depth and that your conclusion synthesizes your arguments rather than introducing new concepts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with,' 'Conversely,' and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the start of the final paragraph where you use 'although' and 'however' in the same sentence, which is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow. Additionally, the referencing in the final paragraph is slightly confusing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'sustainable future,' 'carbon emissions,' and 'negotiate important deals.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'carbon di-oxide release' (should be 'emissions') and 'it impacted individuals' (which is tense-inconsistent). You also rely on some repetitive phrasing. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid basic errors in word formation. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'important' or 'difficult' would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For example, 'fewer flights helps' (subject-verb agreement error), 'can helps' (incorrect modal structure), and 'reduction in flights lead' (subject-verb agreement). There are also issues with punctuation, such as the unnecessary capitalization of 'It' and 'As' in the third paragraph. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with correct verb forms.
