Student answer (Band 5.0)
Few people decided to decrease the number of times they fly every year or by plane. It has significant environmental advantages as compared to the detriments for individuals and businesses . I think the same and I totally agree with the statement.
Firstly, It will lead to an environment with less pollution and will decrease the number of diseases. The airplane emits harmful gases in the sky, which pollutes the air and leads to many diseases such as skin cancer, lungs cancer and many other.
I have read alot about the demerits of airplanes and its effects in newspaper. Apart from that,Many people lose their lives in airplane crashes. I saw a picture of aeroplanes in the sky like cars on the roads in today's world. What I mean is that the number of airplanes have increased to a tremendous amount that affects the other spices as well. There is crowd on sky like the one on road. In a nutshell, its not that only airplanes effect the environment but it would benefit us a lot If they are reduced.
However, If people would not fly by planes it would also increase environmental pollution as they will travel by car. Moreover, it might affect businesses as they face reductions in the number of clients.
At the end of the picture, I would like to conclude that Government should pay special attention on this matter to provide benefits for both the Environment and the businesses. By solving eachothers problem world would be a better place to live.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth in its development. While you state your position clearly, the arguments are somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that reducing flights will decrease diseases like skin cancer is not logically supported or explained. The discussion regarding the disadvantages for businesses is also very brief and lacks specific examples or reasoning. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with logical explanations and concrete examples rather than listing general ideas. The conclusion is present but does not effectively summarize the main points or provide a final thought on the balance between the environment and economic factors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'At the end of the picture' is an inappropriate idiom for a conclusion. Transitions between ideas are sometimes abrupt, such as the sudden shift from environmental benefits to the mention of airplane crashes. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety and precision to ensure a smoother flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', or 'many', and there are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'other spices' (likely meaning 'species') and 'crowd on sky'. The phrasing 'At the end of the picture' is non-standard and detracts from the formal tone required for an academic essay. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues and economics, and ensure that your word choices are precise and contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the number of airplanes have increased'), article usage ('in the sky'), and awkward phrasing ('If people would not fly by planes'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization ('Firstly, It') and spacing issues. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
