Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people have decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying together. I think that the disadvantages outweighs advantages.
On the one hand , it is beneficial for the environment to reduce number of fly because our first priority is our earth on which we live. If the environment is not safe how all living creatures will survive. Moreover, the aircraft release a great amount of pollution when they fly in sky which is considered to be dangerous for birds that fly in the sky. So, the reduce amount of fly also decrease the pollution. Furthermore, government need to create average number of flights so they don't pollute the environment and living beings will survive for a longer time.
On the other hand, there are also some drawbacks which are related to individuals and business is that people who go on trips with their family and friends have a great loss. Because they didn't explore the world. Moreover, many workers travel in the foreign countries through the flights if they didn't travel with the aircrafts, how they will work . However, company will face a great loss through this as many workers will be working in foreign countries.
To conclude, I think that reducing number of times fly everyday will be beneficial for environment but the loses that individuals and businesses have to go through can't be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you present a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'birds' being affected by pollution is not a standard environmental argument, and the discussion on business impacts is quite superficial. To improve, you need to expand your supporting points with specific examples or logical explanations. Because the essay is under-length, it cannot reach a higher band, as the task has not been fully addressed in terms of depth and length.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is weak. For example, the transition between the environmental impact and the government's role is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that is supported by a logical sequence of ideas rather than just a list of points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'fly', 'pollution', and 'loss'. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'reduce number of fly' instead of 'reduce the number of flights' and 'in the foreign countries' instead of 'abroad'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'carbon footprint', 'global connectivity', or 'economic repercussions'. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct word forms will help improve your score significantly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('disadvantages outweighs advantages'), article usage ('the environment' vs 'environment'), and awkward phrasing ('if they didn't travel with the aircrafts, how they will work'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy is essential for a higher band.
