Student answer (Band 6.0)

In our country, some people have made decision regarding their journey, they have decided to reduce their overall trips or some have opinions to stop flying altogether. In my opinion, disadvantages overwhelm the environmental benefits and I shall explain it with suitable reasons.

In this essay, both environmental benefits and drawbacks will be discussed in detail with a logical conclusion.

Our country has been more polluted due to heavy traffic on roads as well as traffic in the air. So, reduction in the trips of airplanes will be proven beneficial for the environment because less airplanes in the atmosphere means less polluted carbon hazards will release in the environment.

On the other hand, country's economy depends on the businessmen and in some situations, if the businessmen would desert to travel by airplanes then this is the catastrophic signs for country's economy because airplanes are generating trillions of their income.

Another prime reason is the damaging effect on the business industry. Businesses depicts decliness to a large extent due to short meetups with an international clients. Moreover, due to this careless behavior, these clients start pay attention to other countries which directly hurts the country's structure. A prime instance is that, If the freelancers of any country refuse the orders of their clients then the next time these clients will never ever pay attention to their old clients.

In a nutshell, stop or reducing journeys in the air means to direct beneficial effects on our environment but it leads to more problems or drawbacks for the people who are currently relaying on it. Likewise, it directly effects the backbone of any country called business industry. To conclude, disadvantages outweigh the benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both environmental benefits and economic disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you clearly state your position that disadvantages outweigh the benefits, the supporting arguments, particularly regarding 'freelancers' and 'businessmen', are slightly repetitive and lack depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more nuanced exploration of the topic. For instance, you could elaborate on how specific industries (like tourism or global supply chains) are impacted, rather than relying on general statements about 'business industry' or 'trillions of income'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'Moreover', and 'In a nutshell' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'these clients start pay attention to other countries'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transition between the environmental argument and the economic argument could be smoother to improve the overall coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'polluted carbon hazards', 'desert to travel', and 'catastrophic signs'. Additionally, the phrase 'relaying on it' is a misspelling of 'relying'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content. Expanding your range of collocations would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'less airplanes' (should be 'fewer'), 'businesses depicts decliness' (subject-verb agreement and word form error), and 'start pay attention' (missing infinitive marker). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence boundaries and comma usage. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of quantifiers like 'fewer' versus 'less'. Increasing the variety of error-free complex sentences will also help elevate your score.
