Student answer (Band 6.0)
Aeroplane consumes very large amount of fuel compares to other transport means, and because of this people decided to reduce the number of times they fly per year, or to stop taking any flight altogether. In my opinion, the disadvantages of this decision is more than its enviromental benefits.
First, the assumption that reducing the number of flights will have significant enviromental benefits might be overstated. While aeroplanes do comsum relatively more fuel than other transports, they are also a premimum and luxury travel means, which means that they are not as common as other means of transportation. For example, if an aeroplane accomodates hundred flyers and consumes even fifty gallons of fuel compared to a car consuming one gallon for the same journey, there is an overall saving of fifty gallons of fuel. Other transportation means like cars, bikes, or trucks together might account for more enviromental impact than an aeroplane. The main reasons for the pollution might be more number of private veachicles, or pollution from industries.
On the other hand, while stopping flying altogether may not have dramatic environmental benefits, the flight operators and manufactures should keep making progress toward future sustainability. More effecient fuel types such as hydrogen fuel or using electric powered motors should be tested.
In conclusion, decision to reduce flying or stop flying altogether may not have dramatic enviromental benefits that some people are hoping for, but I do concede that regular developments and progress should be made toward making flight travel more enviromental friendly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental impact of flying versus other factors. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you state your position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits, the argument relies on a questionable comparison between aviation and other transport modes, which lacks sufficient depth or evidence. The conclusion is clear, but the overall development of ideas is somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments regarding the economic impact on businesses or the personal inconvenience to individuals, rather than focusing primarily on the environmental comparison.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally weak. For instance, the transition between the environmental argument and the suggestion for future technology in the third paragraph is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'sustainability', 'accommodates', and 'overstated'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'Aeroplane' (often 'Airplane' in some contexts, but 'Aeroplane' is acceptable), 'enviromental' (repeatedly misspelled), 'comsum', 'premimum', and 'veachicles'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the professional tone of the essay. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more precise collocations to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Aeroplane consumes', 'disadvantages... is'), missing articles ('more number of'), and awkward phrasing ('compared to other transport means'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to vary your sentence structure further by using more complex subordinate clauses.
