Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you present a clear position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. The essay ends abruptly, leaving the final point incomplete. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed with fully extended arguments. The focus on business benefits is relevant, but the environmental side is dismissed too quickly without a balanced analysis. You need to provide more depth to reach the required length and demonstrate a more comprehensive understanding of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'in terms of' and 'compared with', but they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly. The flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument's development. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects back to the main thesis. The abrupt ending also disrupts the overall coherence of the piece.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'environment wellbeing has more wattage' and 'refraining yourself from flying won't make a huge difference'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more sophisticated or precise terminology related to the topic of environmental impact or aviation. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary and focus on collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Many people can thinks'), article usage, and sentence structure. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or slightly complex sentences that often contain errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and there are several typos that affect readability. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
