Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the contemporary era, people like to travel in flights for reducing the travelling time. On that note, numerous individuals have decided to reduce the number of times they fly annually or stop flying altogether. I opine that the pros of this trend transcend its cons.
This phenomenon can have numerous advantages. Firstly, reduce in travel around world by air have benefit if we reduce the use of travel by flight it rescue the environments because we save fossil fuels. For example, one flight require too much fossil fuel to travel one place to other if we use less aviation than it will be beneficial in future. Moreover, during travelling, flights leaves too many harmful particles in air which will reduce the quality of air so if we did not use this too much we get clean air.
Furthermore, during the take off and landing flight create too much noise and the sound waves are very high and its very harmful and dust are also added in environment so we use them less it will be beneficial. In addition to this, for airport and flight and run way it requires too much area for that government deforest the area to construct the airport which will harmful for environment and also cost is very high for travel . Thus, these are the benefits of reducing in fly time over a year.
To conclude, these trend have merits like, clean air, save fossil fuels , less sound affection and clean and healthy environment. However, to travel in different countries we require flight because only this way can reach their so we can not sacrifice.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits of reducing air travel. However, the task requires a balanced discussion of both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. The student mentions the disadvantages only briefly in the conclusion ('we require flight because only this way can reach their'), which is insufficient. The ideas regarding environmental benefits are present but remain somewhat repetitive and under-developed. To improve, the student should dedicate a full paragraph to the disadvantages, such as the impact on global trade, tourism, or personal connections, to ensure a more comprehensive response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'On that note' is used incorrectly to introduce the topic, and 'reduce in travel' shows a lack of control over sentence structure. While there is a logical progression from environmental benefits to the conclusion, the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt or confusing. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall flow is hindered by repetitive phrasing and grammatical errors that disrupt the logical development of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic terms such as 'harmful', 'clean', and 'beneficial' throughout the text. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'reduce in travel', 'sound affection' (likely meaning pollution), and 'fly time'. The student struggles to use less common lexical items accurately. To reach a higher band, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to environmental science and aviation, and focus on using words in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('flights leaves', 'one flight require'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors when attempting complex structures, such as 'if we use less aviation than it will be beneficial'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors across basic and complex structures prevents the response from reaching a higher band score.
