Student answer (Band 4.5)

Some people have decided to to reduce number of times they fly or stop flying altogether.

In my opinion no one has stop to fly as number of every year or altogether. I don`t agree with this statement.

In recent years many people decided to fly in domestic flights instead of using cars or trains. because flights save our time and it is more save than train. If we see in past train has faces many dangerous incident and car as well but planes has not faces many dangerous incident There is only few incident that happens with plane but with cars or trains there are many thousands of dangerous incident that happens.

One of the most reason to travel through plane is people has more money people are more rich then past. As there is no other option to travel in any other thing than plane. Planes are the only thing in which we can travel in other countries. In past there are many options but now option are less

Not every people like to fly there are some people whom has a fear to fly but these type of people are very less. So these type of people don`t fly. they has a fear and they travel on local transports in country and don`t travel out side the country.

In recent years numbers of person that fly has increase very much because companies has offers in tickets and people wait until companies make discount and then they booked their tickets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response struggles to address the prompt effectively. While it acknowledges the topic of flying, it fails to engage with the core requirement: weighing the environmental benefits against the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. The arguments provided, such as the safety of planes compared to trains or the affordability of tickets, are largely irrelevant to the environmental debate. The position is unclear, and the ideas are not developed in relation to the specific question asked. Consequently, the response does not meet the requirements of the task, as it misses the central focus on environmental impact.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed and often illogical. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'In recent years' and 'In past'. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. The connection between sentences is weak, and the overall structure does not effectively support the development of an argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'dangerous incident' instead of 'accidents' and 'more rich' instead of 'wealthier'. The range of vocabulary is basic and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. Some phrases are used incorrectly, which occasionally causes confusion for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'planes has not faces'), tense usage, and sentence structure. Simple sentences are attempted, but complex structures are either absent or contain significant errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and the misuse of articles and prepositions is pervasive throughout the text. These errors are frequent and significantly affect the clarity of the writing.
