Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people have taken the decision to reduce the number of times they travel by airplanes or stop flying at all for environmental benefits. In my opinion, the advantages of this development does not outweigh the disadvantages for individuals loosing travel or tour experience and businesses loosing potential market shares.
The primary benefit of this decision is the environmental reset that we are going to experience. Since less fuel will burn as fewer people will travel, less carbon dioxide will be released in the atmosphere, benefitting our nature overtime. During Covid-19 pandemic, for example, each nation experienced better air quality, less traffic congestion and sustainability in the nature. However, as soon as everything else got better, environment went back to its vulnerable situation.
There are, nevertheless, obvious disadvantages for individuals and businesses. Thousands of people each year travel to various destinations for different purposes such as, studying, travelling or for exploring new places. When such decision finalizes, these people suffer the most as it ruins their travel experience and holidays. Furthermore, business people will probably suffer the most as in the present globalized world, everything is interconnected beyond borders. So, businesses that target huge potential markets to penetrate in foreign counties, lose their opportunity and profitability whereas, some might go completely bankrupt because many businesses operate completely with foreign clients. Moreover, many counties now invest in foreign businesses to strengthen political relationship which would require business professionals to travel multiple times. Export and import will face huge loss as well. Therefore, reducing travelling to another country does not bring good to majority of the people of a county.
In conclusion, reduction in flying or stopping it altogether definitely brings good for our environment but individuals and businesses will lose holiday experience and suffer huge loss in opportunities and profitability and so i do not agree that the advantages of this decision will outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. The ideas are relevant, though some arguments, particularly regarding the economic impact, could be more nuanced. For instance, the claim that businesses might go 'completely bankrupt' is a strong assertion that could benefit from more specific examples or a more balanced perspective. However, the overall development is sufficient to meet the requirements of the task, and your position is consistently maintained from the introduction to the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'The primary benefit', 'However', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader through your argument. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as the phrase 'everything else got better, environment went back', which lacks a definite article. Despite these minor lapses, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure effectively supports your central argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'globalized', 'interconnected', 'penetrate', and 'profitability'. There are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'loosing' (should be 'losing') and 'environmental reset', which is slightly unnatural in this context. You also use 'counties' when you likely meant 'countries'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage and better attention to spelling. To reach a higher band, focus on using less common lexical items with greater accuracy and ensuring correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('the advantages... does not outweigh' should be 'do not outweigh') and missing articles ('in the atmosphere', 'in the nature'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some awkward comma placements, such as after 'such as'. While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of your points. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic agreement errors and refining your use of articles and prepositions to achieve greater accuracy.
