Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's advanced technological era, flying in an airplane is a widely debated topic. To protect the environment, some people argue that they should reduce the time of flying every year or to stop flying altogether. From my perspective, I largely disagree because convenient and affordable traveling through plane is beneficial for everyone. These environmental benefits are not able to outweigh the disadvantages of individuals and businesses.
Some people are reducing flying time because they have concerns about environment. However, atmosphere can be protect through other alternatives such as nuclear energy. Nowadays technology is evolved extraction of Uranium is possible without any catastrophic scenario. For instance, the USA is used nuclear energy to run Submarines, these Submarine took a lot of energy rather than a plane. Therefore, people can use this technology for flying without damaging atmosphere.
Import and export is an important part of economy of any country. Cargo planes are used for instant transportation in between countries and cities. However fossil fuels and waste from crude oil is also concern for environmental specialist. They can build alternatives for transportation by using solar energy. With lithium batteries they can built small cargo planes to transport goods. However, traffic will be increased in the sky but can be tackled by expert navigators. For instance, UAE is did successful experiment on sky taxi and delivery cars. These car will be used in future for delivering goods and travelling.
To conclude this, although flying is impacting on the environment, business, transportation, convenient and affordable travelling depend on it. In my opinion, finding and applying other alternatives is better approach rather than reducing flying. Every government should work alternatives such as solar energy and nuclear energy to reduce carbon emission and to stay productive in this competitive world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against reducing air travel. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention nuclear and solar energy as alternatives, the link between these technologies and the feasibility of replacing aviation fuel is not fully explored or logically connected to the prompt's focus on the environmental impact of flying. The argument relies on technological optimism rather than addressing the specific trade-offs between environmental benefits and the economic/individual disadvantages requested. To improve, ensure each paragraph directly supports your central thesis with more detailed reasoning and concrete evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'For instance', and 'To conclude this', though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by better linking the sentences. For example, the transition between discussing nuclear energy and the subsequent paragraph about cargo planes is abrupt. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that referencing is precise would help elevate the score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'carbon emission', 'import and export', and 'catastrophic scenario'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'atmosphere can be protect' (should be 'protected'), 'these Submarine took a lot of energy' (should be 'consume'), and 'UAE is did successful experiment' (should be 'conducted'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('these Submarine took'), incorrect verb forms ('atmosphere can be protect'), and missing articles or incorrect tense usage ('UAE is did successful experiment'). These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to verb tense consistency and the correct use of passive voice constructions.
