Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for businesses, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or examples. The position is stated, but the explanation is too brief to fully explore the complexities of the topic. To improve, you must expand your points with more depth, provide more relevant examples, and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt to separate the environmental side from the business side, the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'why do i favor that it is a disadvantage?'. Paragraphing is not used effectively to guide the reader through your argument. To improve, focus on using clear topic sentences for each paragraph and linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and word formation, such as 'individual have argue' instead of 'individuals have argued' and 'dist disadvantages'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient for an academic task, relying on simple phrasing that does not demonstrate the ability to use less common lexical items. To improve, focus on learning collocations and academic vocabulary related to environmental and economic topics, and pay closer attention to word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that often impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('individual have argue'), incorrect verb tenses ('prices of flights are got expensive'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. There is little evidence of complex sentence structures. To improve, you should review basic grammar rules, specifically verb conjugation, sentence construction, and the use of articles and prepositions. Focusing on accuracy in simple sentences before attempting complex ones will help.
