Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people have decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether.
Reducing the number of times by air or stop flying. I believe it is the environmental beneficial development. If individuals reduce times of fly by air it helps in less fuel comsumption and less carbon emission in the environment. Individual can spend more time at their home and spend more time with their family and friends. It helps in reduce traffic at the airports and airports staff can handle less traffic very easily. It helps in fast boarding process and less time delay in flights.
For the businesses it may have disadvantages but I believe it cannot effect businesses more because now a days the technology is very fast and improved. businessman can deal with their clients online via videocalling while sitting at their homes, offices etc. It will helps them in financially and also save their time.
The individuals and bussinessman are both have benefits financially and they can use busses or trains for their nearer distance. Although reducing air travel may require individuals and businesses to change their habits, these changes are necessary to reduce environmental damage. Many business meetings can now be conducted through video conferencing in their meeting rooms also.
In conclusion, cutting down on air travel can cause inconvenience and financial difficulties for some individuals and businesses. Nevertheless, I believe that the positive impact on the environment, particularly the reduction in carbon emissions, makes this development beneficial overall.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding business is limited to the mention of video conferencing, which is a valid point but lacks depth or specific examples of how businesses might suffer beyond a general mention of 'inconvenience'. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the task, but the analysis remains at a basic level, which is characteristic of a Band 5.5 or 6.0 response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices, such as 'For the businesses', 'Although', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the transition between the benefits for individuals and the benefits for airport staff is abrupt. While the overall progression is coherent, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structures limit the effectiveness of the cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'times of fly by air' instead of 'frequency of air travel' and 'it helps in financially' instead of 'it is financially beneficial'. The student relies on basic vocabulary and repeats words like 'time' and 'businesses' frequently. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of collocation errors prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The individuals and bussinessman are both have benefits'), incorrect verb forms ('it helps in reduce'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting and demonstrate a lack of control over more complex grammatical structures. The sentence construction is often repetitive, relying on basic patterns.
