Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that environmental benefits outweigh disadvantages, the 'disadvantages for individuals and businesses' are not explored in sufficient depth; you touch upon government meetings but do not fully analyze the economic or personal impact of reduced air travel. To reach a higher band, ensure that both sides of the argument are balanced and supported with more specific, detailed examples. The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as it mentions the benefits outweighing the disadvantages but then focuses only on the benefits again.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'On the on hand' (a typo) and the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally feels disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'pollution', 'travel', and 'meeting' repeatedly. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'depended on' instead of 'dependent on', 'discharge carbon dioxide in large amount' (should be 'large amounts'), and 'travel by fly' (should be 'travel by air' or 'fly'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to environmental issues and business, and pay closer attention to correct word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'there is no any other option are available' (incorrect verb usage and redundancy), 'airplane discharge' (subject-verb agreement), and 'government meeting held on one place' (preposition error). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
