Student answer (Band 5.5)

Unlike the past we does not have flying facility for individual or business purpose. At present we can fly wherever we want to do. but some people have decided to not travel frequently by fly every year or they want to stop flying altogether which have many reasons for that.

Some people think towards environmental oriented which we can consider a valid point in some aspects, if i can elaborate that point a carbon emission from aircraft is very huge which can directly affect the global warming and leading the air pollution by burning jet fuel. the quantity of this fuel is extremely vey high. we can control this by using big size boing plane to fly for business or individual, so at a same time multiple people can travel from one place to another by just one plane. that will help to control pollution.

In now days the scenario is very much different because, all people think about their time constrain for individual or business related work & only prefer to travel by flying. sometimes overseas travel we can not do by ship or interstate long travel by train which affect to our health as well as mental peace due to long travel hours. To prevent human mental peace from long hour travel they can prefer to travel by flying. sometime business person have to travel multiple state in one day so, that will be only possible by flying.

Conclusion is we can reduce flight time by using different sustainable transportation & reduce carbon emission. Also air transportation can be reliable by using big size of plane instead of multiple small size plane.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the position is not consistently clear throughout the essay. While you mention that carbon emissions are 'huge', the development of the counter-argument regarding business needs is somewhat superficial. The ideas are relevant but lack the depth required for a higher band, as the argument relies on general assertions rather than well-supported reasoning. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your position on whether the benefits outweigh the disadvantages is explicitly stated and maintained.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'In now days the scenario is very much different' is awkward and does not effectively link the ideas to the previous paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the one before it to create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There is a reliance on basic or repetitive phrasing, such as 'flying facility', 'big size boing plane', and 'mental peace'. Some word choices are unnatural, such as 'environmental oriented' instead of 'environmentally conscious'. There are also minor spelling errors like 'boing' (Boeing). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to environmental impact and transportation logistics to demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('we does not have'), article usage, and sentence structure ('which have many reasons for that'). The range of structures is limited, with a heavy reliance on simple sentences and some awkward complex constructions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses and conditional sentences to add variety and accuracy to your writing.
