Student answer (Band 5.5)
Aviation Industry has developed a lot by the passage of time and it really has impacted the lives of people. This intervention has shortened the miles of distance to minutes and hours. In the past people have to travel for months to reach their destined places.
Now a days as far as people are concerned who have decided to limit their travel through planes its indeed impossible because if they are trying to reduce their flying hour every year, this will cause effect on individuals and businesses altogether. There are import and export businesses spread around the world. These huge businesses needs to be look after by officials on regular basis. Furthermore there is need of labor to run these kind of businesses. If the air travel has to be limited these supply and demand chain will be disturbed as a whole. It will effect the whole industry and cause irreversible damage.
As for as environmental benefits are discussed they are not as much to overlook these business disadvantages. So this large industry solely depends on all these factors and people's decision to reduce their fly hours should be reconsidered. There should be other objectives to consider to increase the environmental benefits. Amendments should be done to protect the environment. The planes should be well designed and proper equipped according to the needs of the environment. So in conclusion I states that environmental benefits cannot outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses caused by this decision o reducing the flying very year.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth in its development. While you state your position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits, the arguments provided are quite general and repetitive. For instance, you mention 'import and export businesses' and 'supply and demand' but do not provide specific examples or a nuanced explanation of how these are impacted by reduced air travel. The environmental side is dismissed rather than balanced, which limits the quality of the argument. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more detailed, logical support for your claims and ensure that both sides of the argument are explored with equal rigor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is sometimes mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', but the transitions between sentences are occasionally abrupt. For example, the shift from discussing the history of aviation to the current decision to limit travel is disjointed. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; the phrase 'these kind of businesses' lacks a specific antecedent in the previous sentence. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the logical progression of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'developed a lot' and 'huge businesses'. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'shortened the miles of distance' and 'reconsider' (when you mean 're-evaluate' or 're-examine'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the environment and economics. Avoid repetitive phrasing and focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning in a formal context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'These huge businesses needs to be look after') and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'If the air travel has to be limited these supply and demand chain will be disturbed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic sentence construction and tense consistency.
