Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits of reduced flying and the disadvantages for business. However, the development of ideas is limited. The argument regarding 'saving time' through internet usage is somewhat tangential to the environmental focus, and the discussion on business risks like 'scamming' is not fully linked to the core question of whether environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The position is clear, but the supporting points lack depth and specific examples. To improve, you should focus on directly answering the 'outweigh' aspect by comparing the severity of environmental damage against the necessity of business travel.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often weak. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'On other hand', they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from environmental concerns to internet usage feels abrupt. The flow of the argument is frequently interrupted by short, choppy sentences that lack effective linking. Improving the use of transition words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the expression of complex ideas. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'reduce the timing of travel' instead of 'reducing the frequency of air travel' and 'safe environment' instead of 'protect the environment'. The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning collocations related to environmental issues and business communication to improve your ability to express your arguments more naturally and accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'Many individual believes' and 'it depend on circumstances'. Additionally, sentence structure is often fragmented or awkward, such as 'Such as, now a days every human is dependent on internet.' The use of articles and prepositions is also inconsistent. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that punctuation is used correctly.
