Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this era, where there is a massive use of AI tools, technology and mechanical machinery, there is always a big concern and debate among many individuals about environmental pollution mostly produced by air and land vehicles including cars, airplanes, bikes or whatever. From my perspective, I really think that we should limit our travelling whether by air or by road. So that there might be a decrease in environmental pollution.

However, if we see from the other side, we come to know that it may be harmful for flying emirates businesses and individuals if people reduce the number of times they fly. Because their earning depends upon how many times, people fly but this disadvantage can't outweigh its advantages.

If people limit their time of travelling, it would be very beneficial for people and specially for environment. In recent years, it has been experimente proved

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 146 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While you attempt to state a position, the argument lacks the necessary depth, supporting evidence, and logical extension required for an academic essay. The response stops abruptly mid-sentence, which prevents a full exploration of the environmental benefits versus the economic disadvantages. To improve, you must ensure you meet the word count by fully developing each point with specific examples and a clear, structured conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and somewhat mechanical (e.g., 'However', 'So that'). The abrupt ending of the text makes it impossible to evaluate the overall coherence of the piece. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details that flow logically into the next point.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'massive use of AI tools' and 'mechanical machinery' are somewhat imprecise in this context. There is a lack of topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental science or the aviation industry. You rely on simple descriptors such as 'big concern' and 'harmful'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more sophisticated, academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to the topic of sustainability and economic impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar contains several errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'it has been experimente proved' and the awkward phrasing 'flying emirates businesses'. The sentence structures are predominantly simple or contain minor errors in word order and tense usage. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits your ability to demonstrate grammatical range. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct word order, and incorporating a mix of complex and compound sentences.
