Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many of us avoid to fly and we choose land travelling because, this is very beneficial for us.

Overall, the public opt the ground travel rather than fly in planes. In the beginning era the fly trend was very much that time but, with the passage of time people think to reduce it. Individuals don’t want to take any risk so, in my opinion travelling on planes and helicopters may be risky. Citizens can’t feel comfortable while travelling in fly moreover, they always be in fear. The biggest disadvantage is specific place for instance, whenever we have to go anywhere so we have to on airport.

Furthermore, the biggest advantage to reducing the fly is a good environment whenever the airplane fly it spreads smoke which is not good for our nature after that, we can secure from noise issue the unconditional sound creat a distraction in our life. We should to protect our society from all these kind of pollutions so, we have to handle it. Minimising of flying can represent a good view over the sky. On the other hand, as we know, lots of people’s living hood depends on transportation so if the travellers choose to travel through cars and busses in this way they can earn money and they have a chance to grow their business this type of evolvements can make our life easy. For example, when the numbers of passengers will reduce then the air poisoning when be better day by day. That’s why, choose lorries for their destinations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits and the impact on businesses. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. For instance, the argument regarding 'risk' and 'fear' of flying is not directly relevant to the environmental focus of the prompt. Furthermore, the discussion on businesses is underdeveloped and lacks specific examples or logical depth. The position is present but not consistently maintained throughout the essay. To improve, you should focus on providing more relevant, well-supported arguments that directly answer the question about whether the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'On the other hand', they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is sometimes confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, focus on using transition words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that links back to the main thesis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise, which occasionally impedes communication. Phrases like 'in the beginning era', 'fly trend', and 'air poisoning' are non-standard and reflect a lack of control over collocations. There is a reliance on basic vocabulary, and the attempt to use more complex terms often results in errors. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning common collocations related to environmental and transport topics and practice using them in context rather than relying on literal translations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with verb forms ('avoid to fly', 'whenever the airplane fly'), sentence structure, and punctuation. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some errors in complex constructions. Subject-verb agreement and word order are inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors such as verb tense consistency and article usage. Increasing the variety of sentence structures will also help improve your score.
