Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is undeniable that rent of air transport is relatively expensive as compared to other mode of transport for an individuals. A set of an individuals believe that by mitigating the use of air transport as much as possible will result in environment as a positive impact. I firmly believe that its advantages outweigh disadvantages.

This paragraph will show the overview of using aero-plane as a mood of transport. One of the primary reason is that air-craft needs substantial amount of fossil fuels to take off. So that it significantly release carbon emissions which encourage climate change. Moreover, not every cities or towns have airports. As a result, travelers have to take help of other mood of transportation such as train, and car to reach the airport.

This part will shade that how less number of air-travelers can contributes positively and help to protect global warming. Fir and foremost consequences is that, as lower number of air passengers which not only alleviate that flights take off but also it will leads to moderate carbon emissions. Furthermore, if travelers use road-ways and railways which is not convenience but also foster income of local driver. For instance, if passenger hire taxi driver to commute to long distance, they can reach their destination without transferring from one mood to another mood of transportation.

Admittedly, there are several advantages of flights. At first, it is the fastest mode of transportation, highly beneficial for emergency and business people. In addition, if one have to travel to overseas than it is the only practical way to commute.

In conclusion, although air-space can be time-effective, its green house gas emissions and limited airports can not only damage the environment but also disrupt family budget.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits of reducing air travel and weighing them against the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding the economic impact on local drivers is not fully explored or logically connected to the broader context of business and individual disadvantages. While a position is clear, the supporting points lack depth and specific examples, often relying on generalisations. To improve, you should provide more concrete evidence or logical chains of reasoning to support your claims, ensuring that both sides of the argument are balanced and thoroughly examined.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', 'In conclusion'), they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly, such as the phrase 'This part will shade that how'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for businesses is abrupt. The paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive to ensure a smoother flow of arguments. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the reader follow your logic more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'rent of air transport' instead of 'cost of air travel', 'mood of transport' instead of 'mode of transport', and 'shade that how' instead of 'demonstrate how'. Some terms are misused, which occasionally forces the reader to infer the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, and ensure that you are using words in their correct context rather than relying on repetitive or slightly inaccurate phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'A set of an individuals believe', 'it significantly release', 'not every cities', and 'if one have to travel'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and pluralisation. Additionally, try to construct more complex sentences with greater care to ensure that the grammatical relationships between clauses remain clear and accurate.
