Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 109 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the introduction attempts to state a position, the body paragraph is incomplete and lacks the necessary depth to fully address the prompt. The argument regarding environmental benefits versus individual and business disadvantages is not sufficiently explored or supported with relevant examples. Because the response is severely under-length and the ideas are underdeveloped, it does not address all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its brevity. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the second paragraph is cut off abruptly, preventing a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To start with' and 'on the other hand' are used, but the overall flow is disjointed. The lack of a conclusion further hinders the coherence of the response. To improve, you must ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked logically to form a cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and at times imprecise. Phrases like 'airline support' and 'run businesses and meetings through the online services' are unnatural. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'leads the several environment benefits' instead of 'leads to several environmental benefits'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic terminology to express your ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('it produce', 'that emission create') and missing articles or incorrect prepositions ('behind in the sky'). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the attempt at complex sentences is marred by errors that occasionally impede clarity. To improve, you should focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that articles are used correctly.
