Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals have agreed to decrease the number of times they use flight every year or to stop flying altogether, which is really a positive development for environment as it will get less polluted, and people will be able to save their money as well. Besides these benefits authorities can reduce the over use of natural assets like gas and oil, which may be need to use in the future. Apart from these , we can see just few disadvantages for this trend like it will take more our time to reach our desire destination.

One of the major reason is that our valuable environment will be facilated, if people are being discouraged to use airoplane as this vehicle takes more natural resources to run the engine and makes a great level of emission, which is really a harmful effect on our atmosphere. For instance, in 2000, the research conducted by oxford university, published that airoplanes are consumed more gas and oil rather than any other vehicles, that is the reason it will be more beneficial for our environmental health. Moreover, if this trend spread al over the world, it would be the money saving option for residents. Because of we all know that flight takes more charge rather than alternative ways. Therefore it would be the money saving decision for the individual and it will build the economical sustainablity in the forthcoming days.

On the other hand there are few drawbacks for this trend, for example it would take our more valuable time by using alternative ways like bus, train, and ship. However, if we manage to use other vehicles instead of flying, it would be more beneficial for our environment and our financial insecurity as well.

In conclusion, there are more advantages we can see rather than disadvantages, we can able to save our both world and our future by avoid over use flight. Subsequently, I firmly believe that it is a effective development trend that should follow by everyone around the world, and I would say this trend's advantages outweigh the disadvantages as benefits are more visible.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention environmental and financial benefits, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'economical sustainability' is not fully expanded or linked clearly to the prompt's context of businesses. The example regarding the Oxford University study is vague and lacks specific detail, which weakens the support for your position. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main idea is supported by more detailed reasoning and specific, relevant examples that directly address the impact on both individuals and businesses.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Subsequently' in the final paragraph, which does not fit the context. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'facilated' (likely meaning 'protected' or 'benefited'), 'airoplane' (spelling error), and 'economical sustainablity' (should be 'economic sustainability'). You rely on basic vocabulary and repeat certain terms like 'money saving' and 'benefits.' To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the environment and economics, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling to ensure your meaning is conveyed accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'airoplanes are consumed'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'Because of we all know that...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb tense consistency. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences is essential for a higher score.
