Student answer (Band 5.0)

These days, the people of this contemporary world, have decided to not to fly or to reduce taking the number of flights. The people think that if they stop taking flights so that could, save the nature. I do not agree with that stop taking flights could, save the environment.

Firstly, the people are thinking that stopping flights cold save the nature, but up to some extend only I could save the ecosystem. Simultaneously, it could outweigh the disadvantages, by lowing the rate of trading and can also disadvantage the businesses. For instance, the people could also save the nature by reducing usage of plastic bags, degrading the waste, and the people should follow 4R principal rule. As a result, the people should not stop using flights because it could cause effect on their balance life.

Furthermore, most people these days, travel through the flights because it would save their time. Despite of stop using flights for travelling, the people should go green and protect the environment. To site an example, Austria has stopped up to half percent of usage of cars

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits and economic disadvantages, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The position is stated but not fully explored or sustained throughout the essay. To improve, you must expand on your points with detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring you reach the required length to allow for a comprehensive discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization through the use of transition words like 'Firstly' and 'Furthermore'. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed, and the connection between sentences is sometimes weak. Paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs is sparse and lacks a clear flow. The use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, which hinders the overall readability of the text. Improving the logical link between your main arguments and your examples will help create a more cohesive response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'people' and 'nature'. There are instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'lowing the rate of trading' instead of 'lowering the volume of trade' and 'balance life' instead of 'balanced life'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but it is often imprecise. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and more precise academic terms, while ensuring they are used in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'the people of this contemporary world, have decided to not to fly', which includes unnecessary commas and redundant prepositions. Verb tense consistency and subject-verb agreement are also problematic. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often faulty or punctuated incorrectly. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like article usage and punctuation will help improve your accuracy and clarity.
