Student answer (Band 5.0)

From the last two decades people who are travel through the flight are rapidely increased and it kept improving and this can affect environment because flight needs to much fuel. It is good that some people decide to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether because it require less fuel, which less affect the environment. Although flight is also the reason of noise polusion in environment.

Fuel is the first and big thing can affect the environment and as well as it affect the cost. The size of flight is mostly depends on the number of passanger if there are high number of passanger and the distance of destination is long then it used very high amount of fuel which affect the environment too badly by producing carbon dioxide. If people reduce the number of times they fly every year or stop flying altogether there is very high chance that use of fuel become less in flight and it affect less to the envionment.

As I mentioned above flight is also the one of the reason for noise polution in environment. There was a one study in US which says that may be 28% of noise polution in environment cause by flight. If people reduce the number of times they fly every years or stop flying altogether, this can reduce the percentage of noise polution in environemt because flight flies very less.

Moreover, this can reduce the flight ticket cost and also the cost which required to maintain flight. However this can also help those people who wants reach somewhere very urgently in affordable price.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits of reducing air travel, such as lower fuel consumption and reduced noise pollution, and briefly touches upon disadvantages relating to ticket costs and urgent travel needs. However, the position is not always fully clear, and the ideas are somewhat repetitive and under-developed, particularly regarding the disadvantages. The writer focuses heavily on fuel and noise pollution without fully extending the broader economic impacts on businesses or individuals. This places the response comfortably at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs, attempting to separate different ideas such as fuel consumption and noise pollution. However, the overall progression is limited, and cohesive devices are frequently mechanical, repetitive, or inadequate (for example, starting multiple sentences with 'If people reduce...'). Referencing is also sometimes unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'it affect less'. Paragraphing is present, but the logical links between sentences and paragraphs lack sophistication. This performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, featuring frequent misspellings and imprecise word choices such as 'rapidely', 'passanger', 'polusion', and 'envionment'. The range of vocabulary is limited to minimally adequate for discussing the topic. While the reader can understand the general message, noticeable errors in word formation and spelling cause some difficulty and prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Therefore, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional clauses ('If people reduce...'). However, these complex structures are frequently faulty, containing persistent grammatical errors including subject-verb agreement issues ('people who are travel', 'use of fuel become'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Errors are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader, though they do not completely obscure the meaning. This corresponds to a Band 5.0.
