Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries, some persons have decided they did not fly altogether or decreased the time they fly every year. Although some might consider it positive, I believe that it to be extremely harmful. Not only because of economic effect, uncomfartable traveling, bult also because of time consuming.

There are multiple drawback associated with this issue. Firstly, economic effect can be considered as the leading drawback of this development. As it reduce the overall income of the government. For instance, the Prime Minister of China said they took a lot of lost due do they citizen stop traveling though air. Thus, this mega disadvantage I believe has the potential to make this development a neagative development.

Secondly, apart from economic effect, uncomfartable traveling can also be another major drawback of this development. As long traveling through the car make the uncomfartable traveling. Take an example, recently a international survey conduct most of the population said traveling through air is better than car and the Prime Minister of the Japan said it also effect the economy. Hence, economic effect can be labelled as the most significant disadvantage, giving this development a negative development.

Finally, time consuming can also be consider a leading drawback of this topic. As if people travel through the car they face many traffic. Thus, this thing also leading this development is negative development.

To sum up, even though reduce timing of fly might have some advanrage too, but I believe that the disadvantage it bring in term of economic effect, uncomfartable traveling and time consuming can make this development an overall negative one.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt by arguing that reducing air travel is an overall negative development due to economic and practical drawbacks. A clear position is stated in the introduction, and three main supporting points are introduced regarding economic effects, uncomfortable travel, and time consumption. However, the development of these ideas is severely limited and repetitive. The arguments rely heavily on vague generalisations and implausible examples, such as citing the Prime Minister of China and Japan making specific claims about air travel and car traffic. Furthermore, the explanation of how car travel relates to the prompt is somewhat confused. Consequently, the response fulfills the basic requirements of the task but remains under-developed, aligning closely with Band 5 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some structural organisation, featuring an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which shows basic paragraphing skills. However, the overall progression is heavily hindered by repetitive phrasing and poor cohesion. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as starting multiple paragraphs with 'Secondly, apart from economic effect...' and 'Finally, time consuming can also be consider...'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the mechanical repetition of phrases like 'giving this development a negative development' disrupts the flow of the text. Overall, the cohesion is inadequate and repetitive, which is indicative of a Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently struggling with word formation, collocation, and precise meaning. Examples of errors include 'uncomfartable traveling', 'bult also because of time consuming', 'took a lot of lost due do they citizen stop traveling', and spelling mistakes like 'neagative'. The student attempts less common phrases, but they are consistently inaccurate or misused. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey a rudimentary message, the noticeable errors and restricted range mean the response falls firmly into Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors throughout the response, such as 'they did not fly altogether or decreased the time they fly', 'I believe that it to be extremely harmful', 'As it reduce the overall income', and 'As if people travel through the car they face many traffic'. These frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in places. The grammatical control is weak, fitting the Band 4 to Band 5 profile, leaning toward Band 5 as communication is eventually achieved.
