Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt regarding whether the environmental benefits of reducing air travel outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the development of ideas is frequently obscured by obscure and tangential phrasing. For instance, phrases like 'environmental reduction for the enrichment of individuals and businesses' and 'environmental facilities of reducing their fly times all the year and rileif flying altogther' do not clearly engage with the specific core trade-off between carbon emission reduction and socio-economic drawbacks. While a position is stated in the introduction, the arguments often drift into vague generalities about 'development' and international climate agreements rather than focusing specifically on aviation, individuals, and businesses. Consequently, the task response falls into the Band 5 category, where ideas are limited, under-developed, and not always clearly aligned with the specific prompt requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four standard paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion, demonstrating some basic organization. However, overall progression is frequently hindered by awkward transitions and confusing logic. For example, sentences such as 'Nevertheless, I firmly believe that environmental facilities of reducing their fly times... has both positive and negative impact for bulkiness and residents' disrupt the flow and fail to logically link the preceding ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes used, such as 'Naturally', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', but they connect sentences containing heavily flawed or repetitive claims. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers from abrupt shifts in focus, leading to an overall score of 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used throughout the essay is severely limited and often inaccurate. The student attempts sophisticated concepts, but this results in inappropriate word choices and collocations that significantly impede communication. Examples include 'for prevent the number of times', 'environmental reduction', 'bulkiness' (likely meant to mean businesses), 'standers' (standards), 'deremine', and 'uderstandable'. While there are a few appropriate academic words like 'contemporary society', 'international cooperation', and 'financial limitations', the persistent strain caused by misuse of basic and semi-advanced vocabulary places this performance firmly at Band 4.0, where errors frequently cause strain and misunderstanding for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical structures attempted include both simple and complex sentences, but accuracy is severely lacking. There are frequent and systematic errors in tense, preposition usage, clause structure, and word forms throughout the text. For example, 'for prevent the number of times' shows poor infinitive structure, 'fulfillment of through the prevent flying altogether it imperative' contains severe structural fragmentation and agreement errors, and 'the notion of stop flying altogether benefits' is grammatically disjointed. Punctuation is generally managed, but the high density of basic grammatical errors and poorly formed complex clauses means that meaning is frequently distorted or difficult to parse, corresponding to a Band 4.0 descriptor.
