Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the recent era of growing climate awareness, to prevent the number of times, few things are more crucial than the environmental benefits of this development. In many developed and developing countries, a substantial amount of money and effort is allocated to environmental programs, as it often necessitates the use of various resources such as technology, international expertise, research centres, and monitoring systems. Nowadays, many would agree that contemporary society has transcended its traditional boundaries and will soon become boundless in its pursuit of environmental reduction for the enrichment of individuals and businesses. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that environmental facilities of reducing their fly times all the year and relief flying altogether has both positive and negative impacts for business and residents.

Naturally, solving environmental problems in the form of development is considered more essential for both local people and business. It creates inexhaustible facilities for living standards that are not available from other sources. Moreover, this demonstrates unparalleled benefits for citizens and also businesses. It is permeating and enhancing every conceivable sector of society. Since people seek development and fulfillment through the preventing of flying altogether it imperative to elevate modern living standards. It is adopted by governments and individuals alike, many people stand to benefit significantly. In nations such as Paris, climate agreement, for instance, have emerged as pivotal models for uniting nations and delivering enhanced environmental protections.

On the other hand, there are several issues with reducing flying altogether solely on global solutions that lead us to consider alternatives. Under certain circumstances, governments shy away from international cooperation due to a range of challenges, such as natinal interests, financial limitations, political disagreements, and unequal responsibilities among countries. While global agreements are widely embraced, many developing nations frequently contend with profound resource shortages and domestic pressures when striving to implement international commitments. Therefore, the notion of stopping flying altogether and its benefits for individuals and businesses is not always appealing but remains understandable.

In conclusion, it is the responsibility of governments to evaluate the role of environmental benefits to determine whether depending exclusively on one approach will do more harm than good. Thus, it is evident that fostering an interest in this, where nations address domestic environmental issues while participating in global solutions, is far more beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt regarding whether the environmental benefits of reducing or stopping flying outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the development of ideas is hampered by frequent digressions into unrelated concepts such as government funding, technological programs, and international agreements like the Paris climate accord. Rather than focusing specifically on the trade-offs of reduced air travel for individuals and businesses, the writing frequently drifts into general statements about environmental policies and national cooperation challenges. A clearer and more direct focus on the specific impacts of flying restrictions on personal mobility and commercial operations would elevate this score. Consequently, the position is sometimes obscured by overly broad generalisations, aligning the response with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into four paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the logical progression within body paragraphs is often disrupted by abrupt transitions and vague referencing. For instance, phrases like 'This demonstrates unparalleled benefits' and 'It is permeating and enhancing every conceivable sector' lack clear antecedents, making the flow difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used, but their mechanical application ('Moreover', 'Therefore', 'In conclusion') does not always establish a genuine logical connection between sentences. Paragraphing is present, but the internal cohesion of the arguments requires tighter logical linking to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts a range of vocabulary, incorporating terms such as 'contemporary society', 'inexhaustible facilities', and 'international cooperation'. However, there are notable lexical inaccuracies and awkward collocations throughout the text. Expressions such as 'environmental facilities of reducing their fly times', 'preventing of flying altogether', and 'natinal interests' (spelling error) reveal strain in word choice and lack precise control over less common items. While the vocabulary is adequate to convey a basic meaning, these recurrent inaccuracies and unnatural phrasing place the response firmly in Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is low. There are frequent errors in verb forms, preposition use, and sentence construction, such as 'to prevent the number of times, few things are more crucial' and 'climate agreement, for instance, have emerged' (subject-verb agreement error). Additionally, many complex sentences are awkwardly phrased and obscure the intended meaning, for example: 'Since people seek development and fulfillment through the preventing of flying altogether it imperative to elevate modern living standards.' These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.
