Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address all parts of the task by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, fulfilling the prompt requirements. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear due to expression issues. For example, the writer mentions a Bollywood celebrity giving up travel, but the explanation is underdeveloped and fails to robustly support the argument about individuals. Similarly, the economic disadvantages are stated rather than deeply extended, citing a vague example of an African country without an aviation industry. The position is discernible throughout, but the lack of fully elaborated arguments places this firmly in the Band 5 category, as the ideas are insufficiently extended and supported.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is hindered by abrupt transitions and faulty cohesive devices. For instance, sentences like 'For example, the one of the clebraty from bollywood...' disrupt the logical flow. Referencing is frequently unclear, and cohesive devices are either inadequate or awkwardly used, such as 'In contrast, This indiviuals are working from home...' Furthermore, paragraphing is somewhat mechanical and fails to guide the reader smoothly through the arguments. These features align with the Band 5 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, representing a limited range that is minimally adequate for the task. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the response, such as 'clebraty' instead of celebrity, 'lievlihood' instead of livelihood, and 'indedd' instead of indeed. Collocations are often unnatural, as seen in 'minimizing the flights journey' and 'remain at same status'. These noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader and impede the precision of the message, placing the lexical range squarely at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent structural errors, missing verbs, and incorrect tense usages, such as 'Few individuals finalized that, minimizing the flights journey...' and 'the disadvantages of this action, will impact on the countries becasuse slow development'. Subject-verb agreement is frequently broken, and punctuation errors are common. Although the meaning can sometimes be guessed through context, the high frequency of grammatical mistakes restricts the error-free sentence ratio significantly, matching the criteria for Band 5.
