Student answer (Band 5.0)
Few persons had decided to decrease the number of times they fly every year or to quit flying altogether. Due to this change in the people the environment will surely benefitted because the condsumption of the fossil fuels will definetely reduce and the pollution rate also fall drastically.
On the other hand, there is a disadvantage for individuals and businesses because the reduce in the number of flyinf people, the number of airplanes will significantly decline so that many people do not have a chance to fly easily and will no be benefitted. The environmental benefits will surely have an effect on the individuals because they can never travel where ever they need freely due to less travellers by flights.
By these less travel options many busunesses can shut down due to no proper transport across different countries.
For example, if a person need to go to Australia for a business meeting, if there are no flights to Australia due to less booking he or she will miss their meeting and may loose their money.
If the rate of passengers travelling through flights reduce gradually, many flight company might shut down and it will hard for the travellers to travel worldwide easily and with less cost. I would say "Yes" to the sentence "environment benefits of this development outweigh the disadvantage for individuals and businesses".
I end this by concluding that the reduce in number of times the people fly, the pollution will reduce and the environmental benefits will be high and these activities make businesses much more difficult and individuals like the tourista or the world travellers might loose a good and easy source of transport.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, presenting a clear overall position that the environmental benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion regarding businesses shutting down and individuals missing meetings (such as traveling to Australia) touches upon relevant points, but these ideas remain underdeveloped and lack specific, well-reasoned elaboration. Furthermore, some arguments are stated rather than fully explained, which aligns this response with Band 5.0 descriptors where ideas are present but lack sufficient extension and support.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay has a basic organizational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is somewhat erratic, with very short single-sentence paragraphs that disrupt the logical flow. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'By these less travel options' and 'I end this by concluding that'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making progression through the text feel disjointed at times. These features place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 category, as there is some overall organization but a lack of clear and smooth progression throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on words like 'reduce', 'travel', and 'environment'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'condsumption' (consumption), 'flyinf people', 'tourista', and 'loose' instead of 'lose'. While the writer attempts to use some less common vocabulary such as 'drastically' and 'significantly', the frequent word choice and spelling errors cause some distraction and occasionally impede smooth reading. This performance corresponds well to the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many of the complex attempts contain severe grammatical and syntactical errors, such as 'Due to this change in the people the environment will surely benefitted' and 'if a person need to go to Australia... he or she will miss their meeting'. Frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many flight company might shut down'), and prepositional usage are evident throughout the essay. These persistent errors make it difficult for the reader in places and restrict the grammar score to Band 5.0, where attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty.
