Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is ongoing debate that if people minimize the number of times they fly it will be beneficial for environment . I strongly, believe it will affect the economy and tourism so it has more negative affects as compared to benefits. This essay will examine the benefits and disadventages of flying .

Firstly, flying support economy and provides opportunities to people. For instance, if people travel from one country to another country they will explore various job opportunities. In india, there are not worthfull opportunits for citizens so the only solution is to fly someother country to explore job opportunities . Thus, if the people will not fly and will not explore different countries it will affect the economy negtively and cause poverty.

Furthermore, travelling is a hobby for some people and it lead towars tourism . For instance if people stopped travelling it will affect economy negatively. However, tourism can lead towards terrorism but precaustions can be taken for this by making laws and security. Thus, tourism will affect by this approach and can affect economy.

Moreover, Flying in differento countries has a positive influence on human mind and body. For instance, people who worked the whole year or have a busy routines then travelling can give them relaxation and peace and feel happy when they will come back to work. Therefor, traveling help workers to focus on their work and increse productivity and creativity.

To sum up, i strongly beleive flying has more positive impact as compared to negative as it boost the economy , provides better opprtunities and promote tourism and productivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, stating a clear position that flying has more negative effects. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on the economy and job opportunities in the second and third paragraphs circles back to similar points without deep extension. Generalisations are made, such as stating there are not worthwhile opportunities in India, which lack specific nuance. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed, and a consistent viewpoint is maintained throughout, fitting the criteria for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is arranged with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall coherent arrangement. Paragraphing is utilised, though paragraph 3 is quite brief. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "Firstly", "Furthermore", "Moreover", and "To sum up", but their use can feel mechanical. Referencing and logical progression occasionally falter; for example, the jump to terrorism in the third paragraph is somewhat abrupt and disrupts the flow of the argument. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate for a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used provides an adequate range for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic arguments about the economy, tourism, and mental well-being. However, there are frequent spelling errors ("disadventages", "negtively", "precaustions", "differento", "Therefor", "beleive", "opprtunities") and awkward word choices ("worthfull opportunits"). Attempts at less common vocabulary lead to inaccuracies. While the lexical shortcomings are noticeable and require the reader to occasionally decipher intent, communication is not severely impeded, placing this safely at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ("if people travel from one country to another country they will explore..."). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with missing articles, incorrect verb forms ("flying support", "lead towars", "workers to focus... and increse"), and punctuation errors. Comma splices and run-on sentences also appear. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of control over more complex structures, aligning with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
