Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, travellers are cutting down the number of flight journies or reduce the hours spend in it, whereas several people are able to completely replace the sir travel. The primary explination and concern that people express for such action is the environmental concerns and side effects of the facilities. In contracy, this belief does not match with my openion, as this action will create an economical crises fro tourism dependent people and the businesses which are dependent on such means of transport.

Cutting down the number of journies made through airways have contributed the atmosphere positively to some extend, as the nimber of congestion and air traffic reduces, reduces the chances of bird strikes. Furthermore, the atmospheric conditions will improves due to decline in number of vehicles, cutting down the number of pollutants released in air. In addition, it also reduces the stress on the sir traffic control, which is considered as the most stressful job, and reduces the number of accidents.

However, several disadvantages are also very evident which are often undermined due to handful positive impacts on environment. These positive effects masks the crises and problems which creates a significant amount of negative impact on businesses and individuals dependent on airways. Due to a significant decline in number of travellers the companies will face loss in business, affecting the economical stability and also causing unemployment of engineers and other dependent people. Additionally, the tourism sector will also face a decline due to decrease in number of visitors and tourists.

Therefore, it can be concluded that, reducing the number of air travel and choosing other means of commuting will lead to an era of economical instability and poverty due less number of travellers and tourists. So, in order to face the environmental crises and difficulties, there are several other methods to address the issue, and the aviation is not one of them, as it is the most cleanest means of transport.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, presenting a clear overall position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. The ideas are generally relevant, though some arguments are a bit repetitive, such as the repeated mention of tourism and economic crises. For example, the writer notes that 'this action will create an economical crises fro tourism dependent people' and later expands on this in the third paragraph. While the ideas are extended, certain points lack deep development or rely on overgeneralizations, such as claiming aviation is 'the most cleanest means of transport.' Nevertheless, a clear stance is maintained throughout, satisfying the core requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas from introduction to body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each body paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect: environmental benefits in paragraph two and economic disadvantages in paragraph three. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'In contracy' contain spelling errors, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'This positive effects masks the crises'. Cohesive devices are present but lack flexible mastery, occasionally leading to awkward transitions between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'economical stability', 'unemployment', and 'pollutants'. However, there are frequent word-choice and spelling errors that impede precision, including 'journies' instead of journeys, 'sir' instead of air, 'explination' instead of explanation, 'contracy' instead of contrast, and 'openion' instead of opinion. Additionally, collocation errors occur, such as 'economical crises' instead of economic crisis and 'most cleanest' which demonstrates a failure in superlative form usage. These lexical inaccuracies prevent the score from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like 'whereas several people are able to completely replace the sir travel' and 'Cutting down the number of journies made through airways have contributed...'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'number of vehicles, cutting down... improves', 'These positive effects masks'), article usage, and word forms. For example, 'due less number of travellers' misses the preposition 'to', and 'aviation is not one of them, as it is the most cleanest means' contains both a superlative error and a slightly awkward clause structure. These errors require some effort from the reader to interpret.
