Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is severely under-length, containing only 87 words compared to the required 250 words. As a direct result, the task cannot be fully addressed or developed. While the writer introduces the topic by stating that they will explain environmental benefits and disadvantages, only a rudimentary attempt is made to mention pollution from take-off and landing. There is no substantive development of ideas regarding the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, leading to a minimal response that halts at Band 4.0 due to the incomplete nature of the essay and failure to meet the minimum length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into a brief introduction and a single body paragraph, but the overall progression of ideas is hindered by the extreme brevity of the response. Cohesive devices are minimal, relying on simple connectors like 'On one hand,' and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the ambiguous transition into alternative transport. Paragraphing is attempted, but the lack of a proper conclusion and body paragraphs prevents a fully coherent structure. Consequently, the organization aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that impede precision. Examples include 'convient' instead of convenient, 'total avoid' instead of total avoidance, and 'decompose' instead of consume or emit. The range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying very simple thoughts, but frequent word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'tones' instead of tons, reflect a Band 4.0 level of lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical structures attempted are largely basic, and attempts at complex formulations result in frequent errors. For instance, 'Transportation like flight is very convient a few busy individuals' contains preposition and spelling errors, and 'In this eassy, will explain' omits a subject pronoun. Control over basic grammar and punctuation is unstable, and errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance firmly at a Band 4.0 level.
