Student answer (Band 5.0)
People are now not more likely to travel several times every year or they have stopped travelling by air completely.
Yes i think the environemental benefits of this development outweights the disadvantages for individuals and buisnesses because as the people are not more likely to travel by air can reduce the number of flights flying everyday to a specific destination because as the reduce in demand will also reduce the supply and this will be a great initiative to save the environment from unnecessary pollution which will lead to long lives of the trees and forests which will give us breath that will be good for a individuals health. It will also reduce the use of plastic bottles etc inside the planes because as the demand reduce the supply also reduce which will save our environment because use of plastic bottle also is a very big cause for the pollution and it is very harmful for the environment.
Another big advantage will be this that it will reduce the amount of tree that are being cut regularly sometimes because the flight need space to fly and the tall trees usually blocks the vision of the pilot or make it difficult for the pilot to fly.It can also reduce the amount of trees cut buy reduce in the usage of papers in flight as there are magzines given in the flight for the entertainment purpose of the passenger since the reduce in passenger can reduce the supply of magzines.
The environments health is more important than an individuals buisness because if the environement will stay healthy than the individual will also stay healthy

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits and disadvantages of reducing air travel, taking a clear position in favor of the benefits. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes illogical, such as claiming that fewer flights will save trees because tall trees block pilots' vision, or because fewer passengers mean fewer inflight magazines. Furthermore, the argument lacks traditional economic or lifestyle counter-arguments regarding the disadvantages for businesses and individuals, only briefly touching upon business at the very end. This represents an under-developed treatment of the task, meeting the criteria for Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay lacks proper paragraphing, consisting almost entirely of a single massive, run-on paragraph followed by one brief concluding sentence. This severely impacts the overall structure and progression. Cohesive devices are largely absent or repetitive, with excessive reliance on conjunctions like 'because' and 'and' to string clauses together without appropriate punctuation. Referencing is weak and mechanical. While there is a discernible overall progression from stating a position to giving arguments, the mechanical nature of the cohesion and the lack of paragraphing place this performance firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on general readability.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent reliance on everyday words like 'things', 'people', and 'environment'. There are notable word-choice errors, such as 'buy reduce in the usage' instead of 'by reducing the usage', and spelling mistakes like 'environement', 'buisnesses', and 'magzines'. Attempts at less common vocabulary are limited and often inaccurate. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey the basic points, but frequent errors in word formation and spelling place it at a Band 5.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical structure is characterized by extremely long, run-on sentences that string multiple clauses together with coordinating conjunctions rather than using complex subordination or proper punctuation. For instance, the second paragraph is effectively one single sentence spanning several lines. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and pluralisation, such as 'an individuals buisness' and 'a individuals health'. Control over punctuation is weak, with missing periods and commas. Because simple sentence forms dominate and complex structures are frequently faulty, the grammar aligns with Band 4.5, awarded as 5.0.
