Student answer (Band 4.5)
Some people believe that reducing the number of time fly every year or by not choosing the flying for transportation will lead to enviormental benifits . i do believe this would be bad a decision .
First of all, it is worth considering that flying as a transportation are the less harmless means of transport among all due to fact it fly in the sky so there is no traffic which saves the time moreover it doest creates any kind of pollution subsequently it doest harm pollution . for instance if we stop using flights there will be decline in international trades which might effect the gdp also moreoverver , vechiles take time and create more traffic which lead to wastage of the oil.
However, it is undeniable that plain works on crued oil which is expensive and one liter crued oil can male 50 liter of oil . although , it is unforgetten that if we increase the international trade flight are the best way to transport and it give similar cost as goverment vechile and cheaper then private vechile .because if we are traveling from flight it will 100 km suppose and by train or another vechile it will be more then tripple distance .
in conclusion, weighing up both the sides of the argument , i firmly believe that advantages of flight as a transport outweight its disadvantages

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt regarding the environmental benefits versus disadvantages of reducing air travel. However, the position is somewhat difficult to follow and confused by contradictory statements and poor articulation. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the response contains only 231 words against the minimum of 250, resulting in a penalty for under-length. Ideas are presented such as international trade and GDP impacts, but they remain severely under-developed and lack logical support. The arguments are repetitive and drift into confusion, such as claiming flying creates no pollution. Consequently, this falls under Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall organisation lacks a clear logical progression. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as the repetitive use of 'moreover' and 'however', and referencing is frequently unclear (e.g., 'plain works on crued oil'). The transition between sentences often feels disjointed, and the connection between the arguments in the body paragraphs is weak, meaning the response lacks a smooth flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is faulty throughout. This corresponds to Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
Lexical resource is very limited and repetitive. The student makes frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'enviormental benifits', 'time fly', 'doest creates', 'crued oil', and 'goverment vechile'. Vocabulary range is minimal, and attempts to use less common words result in incorrect collocations and non-standard terms. These errors occasionally impede communication, requiring the reader to guess the intended meaning. This performance is characteristic of Band 4.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
Grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on simple structures or faulty complex forms. There are persistent, dense grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('flight are the best way', 'vechiles take time and create... which lead'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses ('it fly in the sky'). Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with lowercase letters starting sentences ('in conclusion'). These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and reflect Band 4 descriptors.
