Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widely believed that some individuals have decided to reduce the number of fly everey year or to pause on flying together because it's creates more problems in environments by falling smoke in the air. I am partially agree with this statements.

On the one hand, the main environmental benefit is the reduction in carbon emissions. Air travel produces a considerable amount of greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change. If more people choose alternatives such as trains, buses or video conferencing, fewer flights may be required, resulting in lower emissions. For instance, bussiness meetings that were previsouly conducted through international flights can now often be held online, allowing companies to communicate without creating additional aviation emissions. Thus, this could also encourage people to adopt more environmentally friendly lifestyles.

On the other hand, reducing air travel can create problems for both an individuals and businesses. For individuals, flying less may make international travel more difficult and expensive, particularly for people who need to visit relatives or study and work abroad. Businesses may also lose opportunities because face-to-face meetings can sometimes be important for building good relationships with international clients. For example, a small company that relies on overseas customers may find it harder to develop new partnerships if its employess cannot travel to meet potential clients. Therefore, fly in abroad in essentials for an individuals and bussinesman.

In conclusion, although flying less can limit personal mobility and creates challenges for some businesses, I believe the reduction in environmental damage makes this development beneficial overall.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. A clear position is stated in the introduction ("I am partially agree with this statements") and maintained throughout the essay. The main ideas are supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as the shift to video conferencing and the importance of face-to-face meetings for small companies. However, some ideas tend towards generalisation and could be extended further. Overall, the task is well addressed, earning a Band 6.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is logically organised with a clear four-paragraph structure comprising an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as "On the one hand," "On the other hand," "For instance," and "In conclusion" are used to signal the progression of ideas. However, paragraphing and referencing are occasionally impacted by mechanical errors, and transitions can feel slightly formulaic. Despite these minor flaws, the overall arrangement is coherent, leading to a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms such as "carbon emissions," "greenhouse gases," and "international clients." However, there are noticeable lexical and spelling inaccuracies throughout the text, including "fly everey year," "bussiness," "previsouly," and "employess." Furthermore, awkward phrases like "pause on flying together" and "fly in abroad in essentials" restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5, as these errors occasionally impede smooth communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditional structures and relative clauses (e.g., "If more people choose alternatives... fewer flights may be required"). However, frequent grammatical and mechanical errors are present, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("it's creates", "an individuals"), incorrect verb forms ("I am partially agree"), and preposition errors ("fly in abroad in essentials"). These errors demonstrate a lack of control over basic structures, placing the essay firmly at Band 5.0.
