Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people have decided to reduce the number of times they travel through plane or stop travelling completely. I largely agree with statement because it provides numerous environmental benefits such as less air pollution, reduce corbon emission and reduce noise near airports. It also provide benefit to individuals by saving money. I believe that the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages.
The main advantage of reduction in flights is that it reduce the air pollution and save significant amount of fuel. Plane generate vast amount of corbon emission which is the highest contributer that damaged the ozone layer. By reduction in flights plane generate less amount of emission, as a result the the layer damage will be less. In addition, it create air pollution by which several diseases occure and have bad impact on physical health. Furthermore, it reduce the noise near airports and resident may feel comfortable due to reduction of flights. I believe that , it is beneficial for both environment and human beings.
On the other hand, there are several disadvantages of reduction in number of flights. Firstly, the shops and business in the airports are badly damaged because they totaly depand on the people who travel though plane. Secondly, it has potential effect on the economy of the country. If the number of fllights will reduce, the less revenue will be generated.
In conclusion, although reduction in number of filghts may have some drawbacks, it offer several benefits ssuch as reduction in air pollution, corbon emission, reduce noise pollution and save fuel. I believe that the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages, presenting relevant ideas throughout the response. The main arguments are identified, such as reductions in air pollution, carbon emissions, and noise, alongside economic drawbacks like revenue loss and business impact. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive and somewhat limited in depth. For instance, the discussion on environmental benefits circles back to pollution and emissions without introducing broader dimensions, and the points about business are brief. Despite these limitations in extension, the prompt is adequately addressed, positioning the response firmly at Band 6.0 according to the criteria.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, logical structure, including a proper introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides of the argument, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as environmental benefits in the second paragraph and economic disadvantages in the third. However, cohesion at the sentence level is occasionally faulty or mechanical, with noticeable issues in referencing and transitional phrases (e.g., awkward phrasing like 'On the other hand, there are several disadvantages of reduction in number of flights'). Furthermore, repetitive use of basic cohesive links prevents the progression from feeling entirely smooth. Therefore, this performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'contributer', 'revenue', and 'environmental benefits'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('corbon', 'contributer', 'occure', 'resident', 'totaly', 'depand', 'fllights', 'filghts', 'ssuch') and word-choice inaccuracies that detract from the precision of the writing. While communication is not severely impeded and meaning remains clear, the density of spelling errors and the reliance on repetitive vocabulary prevent the lexical score from reaching Band 6.5. Consequently, a band score of 5.5 is justified.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and relative clauses ('If the number of fllights will reduce, the less revenue will be generated'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly involving verb tenses, article usage, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Plane generate vast amount', 'it create air pollution', 'the layer damage will be less'). These errors occasionally cause slight awkwardness, though they rarely impede overall communication. Because of the frequent grammatical slips balanced against a reasonable attempt at sentence variety, this performance corresponds to a Band 5.5.
