Student answer (Band 5.5)

Flights play a vital role in every country economy. Some people think that they should need to less thier numbers for fly every year. Definetly, I don not think the environmental advantages of this progress outweigh the disadvantages for people and their different kinds of occupations.

To begin with, today we are living in modern world. Flights are more in numbers as compared to the past. Flights play a major role in people earning. A lot of people are connected with airport security and managements team. If the number of flights will be reduce then many employees become homeless. Second drwaback is that the economy of that country will be low automatically because a huge portion of the country profit is depend on their flights. Another disadvantage is that the engines of the flights become useless due to long period of gap. For instance, a person who use his car for taxi service of the airport picks and drop and earn a lot of money from this occupaion then he will also become jobless.

On the other hand, advantages are low in numbers than the drawbacks. The biggest advantage is that the ecosystem of that country become neat and clean due to fall in numbers of flights. The second benefit is that people who are living near the airport and feel disturbance due loud noise of the flights they will get rest of this problem.

To sum up, I think the disadvantages of this purpose are more in numbers than the benefits. This is due to nowadays every country rely on their international flights and people who are connect with this passion also rely on flights.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages of reducing flights. Your position is clear from the beginning and maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, which keeps the response at this level. While you mention general economic impacts and individual employment, the points remain somewhat repetitive and lack deeper extension or more specific real-world examples. For instance, the discussion regarding airport security and management is introduced but not fully explored to show the broader macroeconomic consequences. To reach a higher standard, you should extend your main arguments with more thorough explanations and concrete, fully realized examples rather than relying on brief generalisations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance, and the ideas are divided into logical paragraphs covering introduction, body paragraphs for disadvantages, body paragraphs for advantages, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always completely clear. For instance, transitional phrases feel slightly formulaic, and sentences like "Second drwaback is that..." lack necessary articles and smooth linking. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes, but the internal logical progression within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider and more natural range of cohesive devices. To progress further, ensure that each sentence flows seamlessly into the next and that pronouns and reference words clearly point to their antecedents without ambiguity.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate your main ideas, and there is an attempt to use less common items such as "ecosystem," "occupation," and "automatically." However, there are noticeable limitations in lexical range and frequent errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling, such as "thier," "Definetly," "do not," "drwaback," and "occupaion." Furthermore, phrases like "flights are more in numbers" and "economy of that country will be low automatically" demonstrate awkward phrasing and unnatural collocations that require the reader to work harder to understand the intended meaning. To improve this area, you should expand your range of vocabulary by learning precise collocations, checking word forms carefully, and ensuring accurate spelling throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and relative clauses, as seen in "If the number of flights will be reduce then many employees become homeless." However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly regarding verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles. Examples include "they should need to less thier numbers for fly every year," "a huge portion of the country profit is depend on," and "engines of the flights become useless due to long period of gap." These grammatical inaccuracies, while they rarely impede overall communication, occur regularly. To move up to a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over complex sentence structures, maintain accurate verb tenses, and eliminate frequent errors in basic grammatical patterns.
