Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people have decided to travel less by air and reduce the number of times they fly everyy year or to stop flying at all. There are some benifits of this development to the enviroment but at the same time many disadvantages at the same time for the families and business.
By doing this there are many benifits for the enviroment as it cause less pollution in the enviroement as Carbon dioxide release cause pollution in air and effect ozone layer. Now birds do not need to migrate from one place to othere because of habitate changes. There is no need to clear more forest areas for the airport development. We no that iin today there are many specie that are endanger now just because of the development. Some animals are native to their laands they cant survive in other region so we should consider them also.
While on the other hand there are many disadvantages of this development like the people cannot meet their families and loved once. There are many countries where we cant go by land so it make difficult to visit someone there. The business of air companies also effect by this. If we travel by land this would takemany days to reach the destination. Consider there is a patient need emergency treatment related to some kind of disease from the other country than it would be difficult for them to reach there.
According to me enviromental benifits are more important then its other disadvantages beause they nature should not be disturb. We should focus on some strategies to overcome these issue and use alternative wways for this.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, ultimately providing a clear position in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While the environmental benefits are explored across several points, some ideas remain under-developed or unclear, such as the claim about bird migration or the general assertion about endangered species. Similarly, the points regarding disadvantages—such as visiting families or medical emergencies—are mentioned briefly without sufficient extension or supporting examples from the writer's own knowledge. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to present fully extended and well-supported ideas throughout all body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides, and a conclusion. However, the cohesion between sentences and paragraphs is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as starting consecutive sentences with phrases like 'By doing this' and 'While on the other hand'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in vague pronoun use ('this development', 'they nature'). Paragraphing is utilised, but internal logical progression within the paragraphs lacks smoothness. To achieve a higher band, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure that referencing is consistently precise and natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to discuss environmental and social issues with words like 'development', 'environment', and 'disadvantages'. However, the range is limited, and there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'benifits', 'enviroment', 'everyy', 'othere', 'habitate', 'specie', 'endanger', 'laands', 'loved once', and 'efffect'. These inaccuracies sometimes distract the reader, although they do not completely impede communication. To reach the next level, the writer needs to expand their lexical repertoire, incorporate less common vocabulary with greater precision, and eliminate basic spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capacity to construct multi-clause sentences. Nevertheless, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including missing articles ('from the other country'), subject-verb agreement issues ('patient need', 'they nature should not be disturb'), and awkward prepositional or clause phrasing ('it make difficult', 'there is a patient need emergency treatment related to some kind of disease from the other country than it would be difficult'). To improve, the writer must exercise better control over basic sentence structures, verb forms, and grammatical agreements to ensure a higher proportion of error-free sentences.
