Student answer (Band 5.5)

A certain segment of society has took action againsts aviation industry that to reduce the number of flights time that fly every year or to stop some flights to fly together. from my prespective the disadvantage is outweighh to the development of the environmental benefits.i will give the relevenmt reasons as per my knowledge in upcoming paragraphs.

initially, the first drawback is that ,it may impact on the tourism industry ,if the flights are reduced then the local market have to face losse in their buisness, because yje majority of the customers in the popular places were tourists.so if the flights are reduced ,tourists can not able to visit to visit different places and the shopkeeprs cannot sell theri products ,moreover,if they cannot visit other countries ,they may not able to learn about new culture, different tradditions and also unable to meet new people.seceondly,if will affect those individuals ,who lived far away from their family and friends. because airplain is the fastest way for people ,whp want to go in different countries to meet their relatives ,if they travel in other transport such as ships it takes 2-3 days to reach so it takes longer time in the comparisin of airplain

on the other hand ,it also have some advantage for the environment ,it will help to reduce the air pollution beacuse airplain contain foosile fuel in high rate and when it flies the sky it can reduce co2 which is very harmful for our environment .moreover it will alsonreduce the noise pollution because airplain creates high sound while flying so if the flights will reduced it will give a sense of peace to those weelbeings who lives near the airport.

to sumup this ,it has more disadvantages to both individuals and buisness like to the families and friends as well as loacl markets which depends on the tourists yet it also contains advantage to the environment to reduce the pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages of reducing air travel for individuals and businesses, establishing a clear position that disadvantages outweigh the advantages. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While the points regarding the tourism industry and family separation are introduced, some ideas remain under-developed or repetitive, such as the general mentions of cultural exchange. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend and support all main points with more specific explanations and examples rather than moving quickly between ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs covering both sides, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate main concepts. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, relying on basic connectors like 'initially', 'secondly', and 'on the other hand'. Referencing and logical progression between sentences can occasionally be unclear due to run-on sentences and punctuation issues, such as missing spaces after commas. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure smoother transitions between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'aviation industry', 'environment', and 'pollution'. However, there are numerous errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation throughout the text, including 'took' instead of 'taken', 'againsts', 'prespective', 'losse', 'buisness', 'shopkeeprs', 'tradditions', 'airplain', and 'foosile fuel'. Although these lexical errors are noticeable and require some effort to decode, they do not completely impede communication. To progress further, the student must focus on accurate spelling, word forms, and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting multi-clause sentences to express relationships between ideas. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and missing articles, as seen in phrases like 'aviation industry that to reduce', 'the disadvantage is outweighh', 'if the flights are reduced then the local market have', and 'airplain contain'. While these errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the meaning of the sentences can generally still be understood. Greater control over basic grammatical structures and punctuation is required to elevate this score.
