Student answer (Band 5.0)
As everything/decidion in the world has advantages and disadvantages.keeping both these pros and cons in mind.I think that this is not a beneficial decision to reduce the flight time or to stop flying altogether.Think about how effortless it has become for us to travel from one place to another, even traveling 1000s of miles away takes only a couple of hours.people dont realise how easy our life has become with the inventions of these planes.Yeah environmental benefits should be kept in mind but stoping such a huge convenience should not be the solution. The disadvantage it would be for businesses and individuals is huge.Businessmans, investors etc these guys have to travel miles for taking a meeting or i say a sudden meeting. Some times they need to travel so many miles in such a low time that it is even possible to use a car or any another transportation facility.People living abroad might have to take an urgent flight to home.If we think this way and start bycotting facillities, this would take us years back.Even a car produces noise pollution, air pollution etc,it does not means we stop thier use eventhough it is harmful for environment. What we can do,is to take precautionary measures to reduce these harmful effects. So i think bycotting/stoping or reducing flight time wont be an advantage rathher it would be a disadvantage. We should keep environmental health in mind and take precautionary steps for the beneifit of the environment. In this way we do not have to stop the use of facilities while environment would be protected and also taken care of.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that the disadvantages of reducing or stopping flying outweigh the environmental benefits. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding business travel relies on brief, repetitive assertions ('Businessmans, investors etc these guys have to travel miles for taking a meeting') without extending or substantiating the points with specific examples or deep analysis. The reasoning tends to over-generalize and lacks the extension required to reach a higher level, focusing heavily on basic statements rather than fully explored arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The essay lacks clear overall progression and is presented as a single, dense block of text without proper paragraphing. The lack of distinct paragraphs for the introduction, body points, and conclusion severely impacts the structure. Furthermore, cohesive devices are inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, relying heavily on basic conversational transitions like 'Think about' and 'So i think'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical flow fails to guide the reader logically through the argument from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'precautionary measures' and 'convenience', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling, such as 'decidion', 'stoping', 'bycotting', 'Businessmans', and 'rathher'. Additionally, there is inappropriate informal phrasing like 'these guys', which restricts the range and precision of the response and causes some difficulty for the reader in places.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, primarily relying on simple sentences or faulty complex structures. There are frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and grammar throughout the text, such as sentence fragments and run-on structures ('As everything/decidion in the world has advantages and disadvantages.keeping both these pros and cons in mind.I think...'). Errors also appear in articles, prepositions within phrases, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it does not means we stop thier use'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader.
