Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many individuals supports the idea of using fewer flight every single year or to completely stop traveling by plans. This innitiative is beneficial for environment in some factors but on the other hand it'll may have more negative impact on some peoples and commercial companies.
Many individuals prefer flying by plains over traveling by other vehicles. Plains are more convinient as it requires minimal time to reach to the destination. It can covers the distance in less than half of the time as compared to road service vehicles. Also there are many sort of destination which cannot be visited with other vehicles. We can only reach there by air. It could be a better option for emergency travelling. It provides a comfortable environment without any noice. Therefore, people with severe or mild medical condition who may need to travel time by time are likely to choose plains as their first option. Furthermore, for business related travels which may require urgent meetings across other countries airplains or private jets play a vital role.
Although there are multiple benefits of flying, it may have some negative impacts on the environment. More number of flights could results in greater amount of fuel burning which leads to more air pollution. So preventing this would be helpfull to maintain better living environment.
In conclusion, although there are some disadvantages of flying on the environment but we cannot neglect the number of advantages people get from traveling by air.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially and falls short of the minimum word count requirement, containing only 243 words instead of the required 250. The writer attempts to discuss both sides of the issue—the environmental benefits of reducing air travel and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses—but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on business travel is confined to a single sentence without concrete examples or elaboration. Furthermore, the position taken is not always entirely clear throughout the response, as the conclusion abruptly shifts focus without fully weighing the arguments against each other.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation present, with the text divided into distinct paragraphs representing an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the response lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are often repetitive or used inadequately, relying heavily on basic connectors like 'Also', 'Furthermore', and 'So'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow between sentences can be disjointed, such as the abrupt transition between medical travel and business travel within the same paragraph. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it harder for the reader to follow the progression of ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate for expressing basic ideas. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'commercial companies' and 'emergency travelling', but noticeable errors in word choice and spelling are present throughout the text. Frequent spelling mistakes like 'plains' instead of 'planes', 'innitiative' instead of 'initiative', and 'noice' instead of 'noise' distract the reader. Additionally, collocation and word forms are sometimes awkward, such as 'using fewer flight' instead of 'flights', which causes some difficulty in communication and prevents the score from rising higher.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex structures that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader. For example, subject-verb agreement errors occur early in the text, such as 'Many individuals supports', and article errors are common, such as 'for environment' instead of 'for the environment'. Verb form and tense errors also appear, including 'it'll may have', which show a lack of control over modal auxiliary structures and make the grammatical range quite restricted.
