Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people have made choice to reduce the number of times they fly every year to stop flying altogether. Although, this decision has created some disadvantages for people and businesses, I believe the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages.
The main advantage of reducing air travel is it can help to reduce carbon emissions. Airplanes use larger amount of fossil fuels which is very bad for the environment. This will directly lead to climate change causing various consequences. For example, humans including plants and animals get affected because of the change in environment. When few people fly, the demand of airplane will also automatically get decreased. This will often lead to invest in environment friendly technologies reducing carbon emissions. For instance, people could use buses and trains for short journey which will save the flights.
However, at the same time the decrease in number of flights has created difficulties for individuals. Flying is one of the most fastest and convenient way of travel. This will save time especially for those people whose family members are living in abroad. For example, international students and immigrants are mostly affected by this which would make it more difficult and expensive. In addition to this, people might lose opportunities due to the difficulty in travel.
Also, the business get affected because people often have to attend face to face meeting and conferences for different purpose. It is quite difficult for them to travel through public transport where people might lose opportunities. Despite, there are modern technologies which allow people to have communication and meetings through online.
In conclusion, reducing fly will help in dedcuction of carbon emissions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and the conclusion returns to reduced emissions. You address both sides by discussing emissions, alternative transport, family travel, and business meetings. These are relevant points, but some are less fully developed than others. The environmental paragraph explains the general link to climate change, yet the claim that fewer passengers will lead to investment in greener technology is not clearly explained. The effects on businesses are also brief, and the conclusion does not explicitly weigh these costs against the environmental gains. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or example, then restate why the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on environmental benefits, discussion of individual and business disadvantages, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. However, connections between some ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This will often lead to invest in environment friendly technologies” does not clearly show how reduced demand causes investment, and “Despite” does not correctly introduce the contrast with online meetings. The paragraph about disadvantages also moves from family travel to lost opportunities and then business meetings without a clear transition. Use more precise linking expressions and organise the individual and business effects into clearly signposted sections.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “carbon emissions,” “fossil fuels,” “climate change,” and “face to face meeting,” so the reader can understand the main subject. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “international students and immigrants.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “made choice,” “the demand of airplane,” “deduction of carbon emissions,” and “reducing fly.” These errors make the expression less precise, even though the overall meaning is generally clear. Build a stronger range of natural collocations for discussing travel and environmental impact, and check word forms and spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “Although … this decision has created some disadvantages” and a relative clause in “those people whose family members are living in abroad.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include the missing article in “made choice,” the agreement and form problems in “the business get affected,” and the construction “It is quite difficult for them to travel through public transport where people might lose opportunities.” The opening “Although” is also incorrectly punctuated as a separate sentence fragment. Practise article use, subject–verb agreement, and complete clause structures, while retaining your attempts to combine ideas in longer sentences.
