Student answer (Band 6.0)

In contemporary world, Fewer people decided to decrease the total of times they take flights or cease flying permanently. In my view , these benefits outweigh the disadvantages by improving air quality and encourage more sustainable transport.

On the one hand, First and foremost disadvantage is create barrier in cultural undertsanding. For explain, people visit different countries by airplanes and they enable to get information about different styles, culture and conventional food. when individual visits distinct countries, they interact with diverse people and it helps to gain more experiences from them . If they suddenly stop to take flights and it may create obstacles to understand distinguish between other countries. Moreover, Air agencies who run aircraft and others servies can face a significant loss because when people halt to take flights ,then how they run their agencies without profit. As a result, it affects both individual growth and economic growth .

On the other hand, There are some considerable positive impacts on environment. To elaborate, firstly, more and more people opt to use sustainable transport for travel such as bus, train and so on . The government should invest heavily on greener commutes . So, it leads to less pollution and congestion in country. Furthermore, airplanes cause air pollution which is detrimental for human being. When people decided to not use airplanes , it will be reduced the pollutants which released by air planes . Consequently, it strenghten the air quality.

In conclusion, Although avoid flights may create serious threat to individuals and bussiness, it has many significant benefits to climate. I believe advantages outweigh the disadvantages because it enhanced public transporation as well as air quality .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear view: the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The points about reduced pollution and improved air quality are relevant, as are the effects on cultural exchange and airline businesses. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. For example, you mention that flying helps people learn about other cultures, but do not explain why alternatives such as online contact or other forms of travel would not provide this benefit. The business disadvantage is also asserted rather than supported with a specific consequence or example. To strengthen the response, explain the scale or significance of each point and connect your examples more directly to your judgement about which effects matter most.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for disadvantages and benefits, and a conclusion that restates your position. The contrast between “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the argument, and the ideas generally progress in a sensible order. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, linking phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” sometimes feel mechanical, while some connections between ideas are unclear—for instance, the move from sustainable transport to government investment. Improve progression by explaining how each point follows from the previous one and using referencing and transitions more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “sustainable transport,” “air pollution,” “cultural” and “economic growth.” These choices make the main argument understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less precise. Examples include “decrease the total of times,” “conventional food,” “air agencies,” and “serious threat.” Several words are also misspelled, such as “undertstanding,” “servies” and “strenghten.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling; for example, use “reduce the number of flights,” “airlines,” and “pose a serious threat.” This would make your vocabulary more natural and dependable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional and subordinate clauses, as in “When people decided to not use airplanes…” and “Although avoid flights may create…”. This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, agreement and punctuation occur often enough to make parts awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “it will be reduced the pollutants” has an incorrect passive construction, and “First and foremost disadvantage is create barrier” lacks a grammatical sentence structure. Capitalisation after full stops and spacing around punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; for instance, “If fewer people fly, fewer pollutants will be released.”
