Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people decide to reduce the number of times they fly or shop flying althogther. I believe that the negative aspects for individuals and businesses outweigh the environmental advantages. When people stop flying people canont expend their businesses on other countries, too much time wasting for traveling. However the environment is clear.

There are two main reason why I believe the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. Firstly, When people travel a long distance and they cannot use the airlines, then the too much time wasted. when people use the airlines they travel a long distance in a short time and they cannot feel tired. For example a person who travel lahore to karachi by airline, they travel a long distance only one hour, compared with a person who travel by road, they covered the same distance in 11 hour.

In additional, people cannot expend their businesses on other countries. This is because they stop flying altogether. As a result they canot expented their businesses in all over the world because when they expend their businesses in other country, they must be travel this country. However, when people stop flying altogether, then the weather is very clear and people feel fresh air without any population and the governoment cannot need to buy air fuel, government expend the money better health and education.

In conclusion, I think the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, espacially, people cannot expend their businesses, time wasting outweigh the benefits of environmental like population free environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that the disadvantages outweigh the environmental benefits, and you address both individuals and businesses. The travel-time comparison between Lahore and Karachi is a relevant example, while the points about international business expansion and cleaner air show awareness of both sides. However, these ideas remain limited and are not fully explained: for instance, you do not clarify how reduced flying would prevent businesses from expanding, or weigh that cost against the environmental gains. The conclusion repeats your position rather than drawing the comparison together. The response is also 12 words below the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each main point with clearer explanation and support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has a basic structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, a paragraph that also mentions environmental benefits, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression is not consistently clear: the second body paragraph shifts from business expansion to environmental benefits without a clear transition, and the relationship between some claims is difficult to follow. Repetition of “when people stop flying” and “people cannot expend their businesses” also makes the argument feel circular. Use one focused paragraph for each main idea, and connect each example explicitly to the position you are defending.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “environmental advantages,” “airlines,” “businesses,” and “fresh air,” so the main topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make meaning less clear. “Expend their businesses” appears to mean “expand their businesses,” while “population free environment” seems intended to mean “pollution-free environment.” Other errors include “althogther,” “canot,” and “governoment.” Repeated use of “people,” “businesses,” and “stop flying” also limits precision. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; this will make your ideas easier to understand and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences using “because,” “when,” and “as a result,” which shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the argument difficult to follow. For example, “a person who travel” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “they must be travel this country” has an incorrect verb pattern. Sentence boundaries and capitalization are also inconsistent, as in “Firstly, When” and “short time and they cannot feel tired.” Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then combine them with subordinate clauses, checking agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation.
