Student answer (Band 5.0)

A few have taken the desision of decreasing total number of fly time or stop flying overall. The demerits are outweighted by its merits.

To begin with, thier are very few options to travel over seas either its air travel or water travel so by eleminating air travel for enviromental benifits only water way is left, however water travell by boats ships are more time consuing and more dangerus then air travel; for instance time taken by a person to reach Canada from Dubai is 18 hours but when selecting ship to travel it can takes weeks and will cost more then a flight ticket, thus air transport provide cheaper and faster way of travel.

However, selecting not to fly by some people will not result in improvement on nature because airplans is not only use for transportation of humans but also used for transportation of good internationly via cargo plans, additionally due to decrean in few percentage in costumers aviation industry will not stop there company; for example, an airline company noticed decrease in number of passengers then they will use airplans with lower capasity as required insted of their regular plan with high number seats; as due to decresing in number of few clients airplans will not stop flying and will make no benefits.

To sum up, air way is best option to reach over sea destination in less amount of time and decision of some people not to fly airplans will keep flying for other majoritys for flyer.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that the disadvantages are outweighed by the benefits, and you support this with examples about travel time, cost, and airline operations. However, the response only partly addresses the comparison in the question: most of the discussion explains why flying is convenient, while the environmental benefits of reducing flights are barely considered. The claim that fewer passengers will not improve nature is asserted rather than supported, and the cargo-aircraft point does not establish that individual reductions have no effect. The impact on businesses is also treated narrowly, through airline capacity alone. To strengthen the response, explain specific environmental gains and weigh them directly against consequences for travellers and businesses.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an opening position, two main paragraphs and a concluding sentence. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To sum up” help signal stages in the argument. Nevertheless, progression is limited: the first body paragraph focuses on travel convenience, while the next shifts to whether reduced passenger numbers affect airline operations, without clearly connecting these points to the environmental comparison. Some relationships are also difficult to follow, particularly the long sentence beginning “However, selecting not to fly by some people…”. Develop one central point per paragraph, use clearer references, and make the conclusion restate the comparison rather than introduce the unclear phrase “other majoritys for flyer.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “air transport,” “environmental benefits,” “aviation industry,” and “capacity.” These choices show an effort to discuss travel and business impacts. However, the range is limited and many spelling errors make the writing harder to read, for example “desision,” “eleminating,” “enviromental,” and “internationly.” Several expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “fly time,” “water way,” and “other majoritys for flyer.” Aim to use accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “reduce the number of flights,” “sea travel,” and “remaining passengers” would make the argument clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic structures to express reasons and examples, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “airplans is not only use” and “it can takes weeks.” Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a person to reach Canada” and “other majoritys.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention: the sentence beginning “However, selecting not to fly…” runs through several ideas and becomes difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” or “which.” Proofread for subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries.
