Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, some people have decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogather. In my opinion it have more environmental benifits than disadvantages for business and individuals.
Because aeroplane produces carbon emissions that is very dangerous for our environment and it is a reason for climate change. Moreover it is enhancing air pollution. It is also damaging greenhouse gass that protect our environment. It is becoming a threat for global warming. We should protect our environmet for our future generation.
The airplane travel can be replaced from busses and trains in many countries. Particularly the local travel can easily be replaced with other vehicles.
In case of international travel, definitely,it is true that it would effect individuals, tourism and business.
For example the overseas would have less chance to meet with their families. It will effect their family relation.
The international business and trade will also be effected by reducing number of airplane travel. It will also discourage the tourism. Because many counteries specially developing counteries dont have the alternatives of airplane travel. The only option for international travel is aeroplane or ship.
But if we compare both advantages and disadvantages to reduce airplane travel then disadvantages can be compromised. Airplane travel cannot be completely stopped but can be reduced to protect environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that reducing flights brings greater environmental benefits, and you mention relevant effects on emissions, families, trade and tourism. However, the response addresses the question only partially: the environmental case is asserted rather than explained in depth, while the disadvantages are listed with little comparison or supporting detail. For example, the claim that reduced travel will affect family relationships would benefit from a specific explanation or example, and the final sentence could clarify why these costs are outweighed. The response also contains 196 words, so it is 54 words below the 250-word minimum; 18 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each main point with explanation and an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces a position, discusses environmental effects, considers disadvantages, and ends with a conclusion. This gives the reader a general sense of the argument. However, progression between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and several points are presented as separate statements rather than being linked and developed. For instance, the move from greenhouse gases to protecting future generations is not fully explained, while “In case of international travel” introduces a new point without a clear connection to the preceding paragraph. The repeated use of “also” and “Because” makes cohesion somewhat mechanical, and the final paragraph repeats the position without drawing the comparison together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example to your central argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “carbon emissions,” “climate change,” “air pollution,” “international business,” and “tourism,” so the reader can understand the main subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “altogather,” “benifits,” “gass,” “environmet,” and “counteries.” Some expressions are also awkward or unclear: “damaging greenhouse gass that protect our environment” appears to reverse the intended meaning, and “the overseas” is not a natural way to refer to people living abroad. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the environmental impact and the economic consequences would help you explain the comparison more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer structures, including “Because aeroplane produces carbon emissions that is very dangerous for our environment” and “if we compare both advantages and disadvantages,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur frequently: “it have” should be “it has,” “emissions that is” should be “emissions that are,” and “It will effect” needs a correctly formed verb. Articles and plural forms are also unreliable, as in “the airplane travel” and “number of airplane travel.” Several sentence boundaries and commas are missing, particularly where sentences run together after “altogather” and around “international travel, definitely.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles and punctuation.
