Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, some individual argue to overcome the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether. I believed to overcome the fly is benefical for the safety of the envionment. I strongly agree that this initiative outweigh the disadvantages for the peoples and businessman.

Firstly, one of the main benefit is to mitigate the fly every year or to stop the individuals to flying altogether because the aeroplane is emitting harmful gases such as carbondioxide, nitrogen, sulphur and many more. Gases produced from the aeroplane leads to the global warming which is the alarming situation for the worldwide. For example, many research indicates that the rate of pollution is caused by aeroplanes. Different scientists research shows that climate change is directly linked to the emission caused by the aeroplanes. In last 2 years, rainfall is drastically declined just beacuse of this issue. Morever, these harmful gases are injurious to human health but also for the biodiversity of plants and animals. To protect the ecosystem, take some benefical steps.

Secondly, reducing the fly and to stop flying altogether is a disadvantage for the peoples and businessman. Beacuse businessman have the attend their meetings and they have to travel on time without any delay. But to protect the environemnt of the world this disadvantage outweigh this development.

In conclusion, this is the alarming situation for all of us. Furthermore, to protect the environment we have to take some mitigation steps to overcome the fly every year or to stop flying all together.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear overall view that reducing flights benefits the environment more than it harms people and businesses, and you give relevant reasons, including aircraft emissions and the need for business travel. However, the response addresses the comparison only partially: the environmental case receives most of the discussion, while the disadvantages are briefly asserted rather than weighed against the benefits. The claim that rainfall has declined because of aircraft emissions is not adequately explained or supported, and the business example is not developed with a counterpoint or alternative. The conclusion repeats the position without adding a final comparison. The response is 240 words, so it is 10 words below the required minimum; 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: the first paragraph moves from emissions to global warming, rainfall, health and biodiversity without clearly connecting or prioritising these points. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “But” are used, but some connections are unclear or repetitive, and the second body paragraph does not explain how the business disadvantage is balanced against environmental gains. The final paragraph largely repeats earlier wording. Develop one main point at a time and use clearer references between claims and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “harmful gases,” “global warming,” “climate change,” “emission” and “biodiversity,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “overcome the number of times they fly” does not express reducing flights, and “mitigate the fly” is not a natural phrase. “Benefical,” “envionment,” “Beacuse” and “Morever” are misspelled, while “peoples” and “businessman” are unsuitable forms in context. Aim for accurate, natural topic language and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “Gases produced from the aeroplane leads to the global warming,” and you use basic sequencing to organise the response. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, verb forms and articles. For instance, “some individual argue” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “businessman have the attend their meetings” contains several grammatical problems that obscure the intended meaning. “I believed to overcome the fly is benefical” also shows faulty verb patterns. Some sentences are fragments or incomplete, such as “To protect the ecosystem, take some benefical steps.” Practise complete clauses, accurate verb patterns and agreement, then proofread each sentence.
