Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many individuals have decided to decrease the number of flights they take every year or completely quit flying altgother. Although not flying often can affect the environment pollution in a positive way, it can also create difficulties in travelling abroad and result in businesses losing revenue.
The most significant advantage of reducing or discontinuing taking flight would be less air pollution. The amount of air polution and emission generated from every flight affects the enivronment. If many people follow this idea to fly less, it will force the number of flights flown every year down considerably, this will be beneficial for the environment in the far future.
Despite that, it will have an negative impact on normal people and airplane industry. Travelling abroad will become less convenient, and people might miss oppurtunities to visit their family or go on vacations. Companies will lose their customers and bringing the revenue down significantly, for example, companies will face challenges in sending out people to their different location around the world for their business benefit. Along with that, the complications will increase over time, resulting in the loss of hotels and restaurants customers for travel-friendly countries.
In conclusion, I believe that the benefits of stop flying are friendly in the long run, but the disadvantages it brings for the people travelling for meeting their loved one and vacation, and for loss for business, hotels around the world are much higher. Therefore, it is beneficial to avoid flying for unnecessary reason but overall it is understandable for many purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view: you accept that flying less benefits the environment, but argue that the disadvantages are greater. Relevant consequences include reduced opportunities to visit family and lost customers for airlines, hotels and restaurants. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The environmental benefit is asserted through lower pollution and fewer flights, but you do not explain the scale or mechanism in much detail. Likewise, the business example about sending employees to different locations is difficult to follow, and the conclusion’s position is weakened by saying that avoiding unnecessary flights is beneficial while also judging the disadvantages higher. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or example and make the final judgement consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the environmental benefit and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The progression from reduced pollution to effects on travellers and businesses is easy to identify, and linking phrases such as “Despite that” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, connections within sentences are occasionally awkward: the sentence beginning “If many people follow this idea” joins a cause and result with a comma, while “Along with that” introduces a consequence without clearly linking it to the preceding business example. The conclusion also introduces several ideas in a crowded sentence. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise links between each claim and its consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “air pollution,” “revenue,” “opportunities,” and “customers.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “discontinuing” and “in the long run.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, which can make the reader pause. Examples include “affect the environment pollution,” “bringing the revenue down,” and “travel-friendly countries.” Spelling errors such as “altgother,” “polution,” “enivronment,” and “oppurtunities” are noticeable. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for environmental impact and business losses, and proofread spelling. More precise vocabulary would make your argument clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a concession in the opening (“Although…”) and a conditional sentence beginning “If many people follow this idea.” The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “it can also create difficulties” has an unclear reference, and “it will have an negative impact” uses the wrong article. In “If many people follow this idea…, it will force…, this will be beneficial,” a comma joins independent clauses; separate them or use a conjunction. The sentence about companies also shifts awkwardly from “will lose” to “bringing.” Check articles, clause boundaries, and parallel verb forms, and revise long sentences so each relationship between ideas is grammatically clear.
