Student answer (Band 5.0)
This is a topic of ongoing debate these days that reducing the number of times taking flight every year for environmental benefits. In this essay I discuss this prespective before presenting my own opinion.
First and foremost, many people argue that the decrease their number of times they fly in that way te can contribute in environment sustainability. The aeroplanes emits a huge amounts of gases in atmosphere which are very harmful for ozon layer and public health. It also have many deterimental affects on clouds and rain water become toxic and eventually it damage the crops and plants on ground.
On the other hand, many individuals believe that this approach has not much psotive impact on environment. they believe it has several nagtive affects on the economy on many countries and reduce the job opportunities. There are many others aspect which are creating more complications for atmosphere than air flights. Subsaintial numbers of factories which emits harmfull gases into atmosphere without treating them have more negative impact. This approach will devastate the flying industries and there millions of poeple who are doing jobs in this industry they will directly affect from this. Meanwhile many airlines play pivotal role in enironmental sustainability and allocate a huge budget for saving environments a

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce the topic and present arguments about emissions, public health, employment and the airline industry, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the task asks whether environmental benefits outweigh disadvantages, and your own position is not made clear: the introduction promises an opinion, but the essay ends while discussing airlines’ environmental spending. The benefits and disadvantages are also asserted rather than explained with specific examples or developed reasoning. The response addresses the task only partially, and the required minimum length is not met; this leaves important parts of the argument and conclusion undeveloped. State your view directly, compare the scale of the two sides, and support each main point with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic essay shape, with an introduction followed by a paragraph presenting environmental benefits and another beginning with “On the other hand” to introduce disadvantages. These signposts help readers recognise the change in viewpoint. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from emissions to ozone, health, rain and crops without clearly showing how each point connects, while the second shifts from the economy to factories and airline jobs. Some linking is mechanical, and the final sentence is incomplete, so the argument has no clear ending. Group related points, use pronouns and linking phrases with clear references, and add a conclusion that returns to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “environmental sustainability,” “harmful gases,” “job opportunities” and “pivotal role.” This gives you some useful language for discussing the issue. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “prespective,” “deterimental affects,” “nagtive affects” and “allocate a huge budget for saving environments.” Some expressions are also imprecise, including “decrease their number of times they fly.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for aviation and environmental impacts, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, say “reduce the frequency of their flights” and “invest in environmental protection.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a relative clause in “factories which emits…” and a sentence beginning “Meanwhile.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make the reader work to interpret the meaning. The opening sentence is not grammatically complete (“This is a topic… that reducing…”), and there are problems with agreement and verb forms in “The aeroplanes emits” and “it also have.” Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a huge amounts” and the lowercase “they” after a full stop. Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, then check agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
