Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position that the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify relevant effects on individuals and businesses, including saving money, spending within the home country, family time, cultural exchange and education. However, the response addresses the question only partially: the environmental benefit itself is not explained, and the disadvantages for businesses receive little attention. Several points, such as students being unable to pursue higher education, are introduced without explaining how reduced flying causes this. The conclusion repeats your view but is cut off. The response is also 27 words below the required minimum. Develop a clear comparison of environmental gains against specific personal and business costs, and support each main point with an explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: you use an opening, two body sections signalled by “on the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and a conclusion. These markers help readers recognise the intended contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded together, and links between them are sometimes unclear—for example, the move from saving money to national economic effects and then family time. Connect each paragraph’s ideas in a more deliberate sequence, with one central point followed by explanation. Cohesive phrases such as “Through this way” are repeated and do not always clarify the relationship between sentences. The unfinished final sentence also weakens the overall structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “culture exchange,” “economy,” “communication,” and “higher education,” and you try to express less familiar ideas such as currency being spent abroad. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, including “disvantages,” “outweight,” “exploare,” and “florish.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “increase economy own country status” and “give quity family time.” These problems sometimes obscure your intended meaning. Build accuracy with common topic collocations before attempting more complex phrasing, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Vocabulary suggestions: “reduce number of times” → “reduce the frequency”; “flourish” → “boost”; “culture exchange” → “cultural exchange”; “effecting by” → “affected by.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast between the two sides of the issue and clauses beginning with “while” and “Through this way.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer structures are often faulty. For example, “while traveling less citizens saving money” lacks a correctly formed main verb, while “Many students can not extra or Higher education can not take” is difficult to interpret because the clause structure is incomplete. Errors also occur with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “the drawback” and the run-on opening sentence. These frequent problems can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then use punctuation to separate each idea.
